Dillion wrote:Entering the great hall the spectacle before his eyes to the likes of nothing he had ever seen, he had heard of the beauty of such places but never did he think he would ever step foot into a castle, not being what he expected the elegance took him by surprise. As he slowly walked observing his surroundings and vast pictures that hung from the walls as if spirits were watching over him or at least watching his every move, hoping to recognize a face, something to let him know he was in the right place.

Reaching into his pocket he pulled the note and read it again, it directed him to this castle and the funeral it mentioned for he had no memory of Nova. Most of his years being spent abroad in France with his mother, England was new to him, a fresh start, leaving behind a woman he once loved as she married another and broke his heart, in search of his Father’s family a long road which had led him to this place, a dead end? He hoped not.

An open door appearing to lead unto a garden as he stepped through it, a small chapel apart from the castle, this must be the place he mumbled to himself, walking slowly towards the structure stopping near the door, he didn’t want to enter with weapon in hand but he didn’t dare be without it, previous attacks upon him have taught him that only two things mattered in life, a fine weapon and a good woman, now only having one of those things he gripped the handle so it too could not get away for it was the only thing keeping him alive.

Looking over at her friend she couldn't help her lip twitching slightly as she suppressed a laugh, she had to date never seen Aasha dressed so and it was no surprise that she looked out of place.

"Yer gonna live eh?" She queried lightly to her friend before turning her attention towards the entrance. "Best head in quick a'fore Tasite thinks we ain't coming." Tugging on the bodice once she pushed herself off the carriage and steeled herself for what was to come. Weeping Tudors and the half million spawn that were likely to attend were more terrifying to her than all the soldiers in England.

Gawain59 wrote:Bishop Gawain had received a letter from his friend Arthur, telling him about his uncle, Novaphoenix, and asking if he would conduct the memorial service. Gawain had arrived earlier and had been in the sacristy, putting on his robes.

Hearing sounds that meant people had started to arrive, Gawain reappeared from the sacristy. He looked around for Arthur, but couldn't see him anywhere in sight. However, he saw Tasite, whom he remembered from having met her at the Holiday Feast party at the Tudor estate.

Gawain approached Tasite,
"Hello Tasite, we meet again. Arthur wrote to me and asked me to conduct the memorial service for your brother. I am sorry for your loss and I know what it is like to lose a family member as I lost my nephew Jorne (who was Arthur's cousin) a few months ago. Let me know when you are ready and I shall begin things."

I'm sorry for you loss Gawain, Jorne was a good man. We appreciate you coming. Getting started, Tas look about and realize some family hadn't made it yet. Gawain can you give it a min to let the rest of the family get here. Gripping Nova hat tightly she felt that she might have broken it. Myxti wrote:Myxti received a letter about Nova's death. Another terrible blow to her heart. A few tears shed before she started to laugh. She remembered doing a painting of the family members for a book collection (ooc/ video). Nova yelled when she was just going to put his name on it. He dressed up (ooc/ Gave us pictures. He didn't have a person avatar at that moment). She had quickly put something together for him.

Her laughter stopped and she was left dull and weak. Leana, Myxti's dearest cousin, had recently died and Myxti did not feel that she could make it another day without a long retreat in the church. But she had a precious son and wonderful husband and she could not leave them.

In her black Burgundian mourning dress and headdress, she walked into the church quietly. So many people were there...so many in tears.

*thinking* I better sit in the back.

She took a seat in the back. She would speak to the family in a bit.

Immediately noticing Victorious standing nearby he froze, she was beautiful but now was not the time for that, approaching her he felt awkward but remembering her from his past he began to feel a bit more comfortable that he was in the right place.

Hello Victorious it is nice to see you again hugging her she felt warm, soft and smelled nice, quickly blushing he broke off the hug and attempted to gain some composure. Looking around the chapel trying to mind his own business he heard a few of the words the Bishop was speaking.

The funeral notice must have been for Tasite by the way she was displaying her emotions, not knowing who Nova was he waited until the Bishop finished talking with her, hello Tasite, I am sorry to hear of your loss, please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

She had a big smile as she met him. I'm so glad you found the chapel, I was worried since you are not familiar with your bearings that you would not be able to find us here.

She felt his warm enticing body against hers and had to push away the feelings she was having since I think he is my nephew's cousin.

Please I hope you will sit with Artie, Tastite, and me. I know you didn't know Nova very well or can't remember but I'm sure he would have liked you. As she began to remember all the good times she had with Nova she began to cry. Being so strong for Tas must have gotten to her because for some reason she could show her feelings to Dillon. I'm so sorry I dont know what came over me. As she choked up her tears and composure, she told Dillon Please feel comfortable to talk to the rest of the family. They adore you and the more you get to know them maybe the more you will remember.

She felt embarrassed with the feelings she had with Dillon and the way she lost her composure with him. She promised to be strong. I guess that didnt work to well. She walked over to the altar and knelt down to pray and then totally cried her heart out. She thought to herself, "What will I do without you, Nova and what was I thinking that I could be strong for Tas. This was an unbelievable task. She prayed to Jah to help her. Suddenly she was feeling sick.

Arthur_loxley wrote:Arthur and Lynna arrived late at the ceremony. With so many things to take care of on the ship, he had lost track of time. He whispered to Lynna as they walked into the church: I can't believe Nova is gone. Why does tragedy always fall on the Tudor house? He didn't really want an answer, but needed to vent. He had to be strong for his aunts - Vicky and Tasite both. They walked down the aisle to sit towards the front of the church. He greeted his family and friends, then kissed his wife telling her he would be back to sit with her. He wanted to thank Bishop Gawain for conducting the ceremony on such short notice. He didn't really want to arrange a funeral since no body had been found.

Bishop Gawain had counseled him about death and mourning and explained the difference between a funeral and a memorial service. Since no body had been recovered, the ceremony was a memorial service. Arthur wished this day would end. He wasn't up to emotions he and his family would be feeling at the loss of Nova.

So much sadness surrounded their families of late, Arthur whispered as they walked, I can't believe Nova is gone. Why does tragedy always fall on the Tudor house? She squeezed his arm lovingly, thinking of all the losses they have encounted together of family and friends. Not knowing exactly how to respond. She knew what it was like to lose a brother and family wise she herself was the only one left of her immediate family after losing all the last being her dear brother Logoth. Her eyes shifted to the ground before her as she composed herself before looking towards the others that had gathered already. They greeted the rest of the family with consoling hugs and made their way to the front of the Church where Arthur kissed her softly saying he wanted to speak to their dear friend Bishop Gawain.

As she began to cry he felt bad for her not knowing what to do, feeling helpless, he hated funerals, the last he attended was that of his mother at an early age. Trying to drop the past memories of his mother’s death he knew he had to be strong today not only for the funeral but to show strength when meeting new people was something he learned with his vast education.

Looking around most seemed to be shedding tears, something he understood but the emotions just weren’t there, and he felt bad for his family and friends but felt out of place. Taking a seat as he removed his scabbard he starred at the handle of his sword given to him by his grandmother as it belonged to his grandfather.

The days ahead seemed grim the Country was at war but was it his war, having remained neutral to this point he had people on both sides that needed his services does he dare upset one side over the other, so many things ran over his mind, the young 13 year old girl that needed his help, how was she doing, did her father and his men find her, would she be safe, should he have left her alone surely his family would have understood what his cause was with her but would she bring unwanted trouble to him, to the family he didn’t know.

Watching as others entered into the chapel and took their seats, so many he didn’t know, he started looking at the various pieces of art in the chapel he waited patiently.

"Thank you, Tasite. Yes, I will wait until the rest of the family get here - so just give me a nod when it is time for me to begin."

Then looking around, he saw that Myxti had arrived and nodded to her.

Then Gawain noticed that Arthur and Lynna had just entered. Lynna was now seated, and Gawain nodded to her as he saw Arthur was making his way towards him...

In fact, she missed Aayla's lips twitching as well, it took everything she had to straighten her spine and began tottering towards the chapel. More and more guests were arriving, which didn't help matters at all, though the girl did her best to hide exactly how uncomfortable she was with the entire situation. The only person who might have a clue was Obli, Aasha had a hold of his arm, ostensibly for him to escort her in, while in reality it was to keep her from falling on her bum. Unfortunately for him, due to the heightened nerves and discomfort, her grip on his arm was not light and ladylike. She was clutching him like a lifeline, afraid if she let go she would run back to the carriage, kick off the horrible torture devices he called shoes, and tear the dress off of her so she didn't feel like such an ignorant fool.

Yah, I'll lives an' lets be goin' in 'fore all o' 'em nobles be crowdin' in forcin' us to be standin' fer the whole thing. I came fer Tasty, I ain't leavin' now.
Luckily for them all, the idea that spawn might be in attendance never dawned on Aasha, or there was no way she would have walked through the chapel doors, Tasite or no. Unfortunately, her luck did not hold. She made it to the doors and stepped from the grass onto the stone surface of the chapel floor, just to twist her ankle and lose her balance. A very odd squeal came from Aasha's mouth when she began to fall, along with the worst clatter anyone could possibly hear as she kicked her shoes off trying to regain her equilibrium without coming into contact with the ever looming floor.

Shriekersmom wrote:Receiving news almost too horrible to read, she retreated to her private library and sat in the dimly lit room, crying, clutching the missive from Tasite. She did not want her family to see how emotionally attached she still was to a man they all knew was in her far distant past. One never forgets their first love, and Nova had been hers.

Once more, as she did many times, she wondered how different their lives would have been had she not broken off their engagement and married him. The repercussions of that decision haunted her over the years. Her own brother had not spoken to her for years after, due to their fights that started that day. That fateful Friday when, with her sister Sonnie by her side for strength, she informed Nova she could not proceed and marry him. They parted friends, and had remained such.

Gone...how could he be gone. One constant she always counted up was that always looming near... no matter where she moved in England .... Nova was nearby. No matter how hardened and jaded she became in her terms on councils and as Duchess, one thought of Nova and she remembered her innocence and zest for life, recapturing it and using it to move forward. When even that was not enough he would appear in her life and with a few harsh words she would snap out of her silliness and become who she was meant to be once more. How was she to go on knowing he was no longer there?

Cried out, she had slip into bed with Emrys, she would tell him in the morning. As he held her she felt comforted in knowing Nova was now able to keep her Mum company in the kingdom of heaven. Drifting off with a smile, thinking of them watching from above and both shaking their heads.

Tomorrow she would gather them and let them know of the funeral. She must go and show her respects for him and be there for Tasite.

Like any other day, he woke after she did. It was a conundrum how his wife could expend so much energy throughout her day while getting less hours of sleep. In contrast to her upbringing, he grew up in humbler circumstances and a much simpler life. How their paths crossed and eventually joined was a well mapped out route with twists and turns drawn by fate itself. She was brushing her long blonde locks in front of her vanity. He laid there on his side with his elbow propped, watching her in silence. It was then that he noticed a slight swelling under her eyes. She had been crying. He let out a sigh to dispel whatever worrisome thoughts were beginning to form in his mind. Pulling the covers off of his body, he rose and approached her. His reflection telling her that he knew something was wrong. He placed his hands on her shoulders, stopping the motion of her arms as he kissed the top of her head. "Morning... Something you want to tell me?" He asked as he looked at the image of them in the mirror. She nodded and laid her brush back on the wooden panel she was facing. What followed was a series of words detailing the contents of the letter she received, tears welling up at the corners of the eyes he loved so much. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, her own hands instinctively holding his closer to her chest. She had mentioned this man to him a few times before. Her reaction showing how much the friendship meant. He pressed his lips to her hair, whispering against the soft strands. "We shall go together."

They spent most of the morning getting ready and leaving instructions for the men who served either or both. Once ready, Emrys opted to go by carriage. The driver, having gone all over England with them, already knew how to get to their destination as swiftly and safely as possible. A subtle turn and a halt, announcing their arrival. He alighted first, looking around before turning to reach for his wife. They made their way towards the chapel, entering with their hands clasped. His gaze zoomed in on Tasite and they headed in her direction, stopping as they closed the distance. "Tas, I am sorry for your loss."

She was happy to see that love was still in the air and that life would go on. Damn Nova for not finding love or a wife so that she might have some more nieces or nephews to hold onto.

Hello Dillion, thank you for coming. I'm quite content right now thank you for your kind offer. I would like it if you just make sure my big sister is ok and keep that pretty face of her smiling. I would really like that. Then she saw Arthur and Lynna walk into the church. I guess now that Artie is here we can get started she said in a low voice to herself. She was sure since Artie was talking to Gawain he would tell him that so she returned to her seat leaving room for Vicky and Dillion.

Tas was lost in space again when she heard another voice. "Tas, I am sorry for your loss." looking up she saw Smom and Emrys. Standing she hugs them both. Thank you for coming she said as she looked at Smom.. This is the hardest day in my life you know I never thought he would leave us like this as she continue to ball his damn hat up. You know I don't know if I'm crying more for the pain or the anger. He promised and he broke it. Forgive me please.. Again thank you for coming as she took a seat and went back to that place in her head that she could yell and scream at him.

Tas again seem to be in space when she felt this warm hug..that felt warm and safe. Tas without thinking wrap her arm around this person and hug tightly... then his voice came through softly bring light to the darkness she was feeling. "Hey tas, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how it feels, and I would like you to know I'm here for you if you need it." she felt him slightly squeezing her. Kieran thank you for coming it means so much that you are here. Tas wasn't going to cry any more she was tied of that. she was going to hold her head up and face life without her brother. Just then Aasha came tumbling, or almost tumbling into the church with heels flying everywhere. Tas tried everything in her power not to laugh but it was top late she lost control and it came rolling out as she stood up and walked over to her niece still laughing.[color=blue]Aasha leave it to you to make me laugh this hard and at a funeral. Tas hugged her tightly and whispered I love you Aasha and you look beautiful in your dress. Thank you for being here. She sure wasn't going to be the one to tell her it was the wrong kind of dress for a funeral, and she really did look lovely. Knowing she didn't like hugs Tas let go but continued to smile at her as she gathered her shoes and handed them to her. Placing her hand on her cheek she spoke one more time; Aasha you're priceless and maybe you should consider wearing dresses more often you look like a noble.. giggling she went back to her seat before Aasha put her in the ground next.

It was all together a horrific experience already, she fought back the urge to drink more as they had finally entered the church proper... She may be called many things in her life but she would at least try and avoid heretic and blasphemer... for now.

Dropping unceremoniously into a back seat, she glanced around and fidgeted slightly. What she wouldn't give to be well into her third hidden flask and playing with knives... even sitting through the speeches those English folk love to give about 'please don't kill me' and 'you can't take our town' were sounding pleasant at this particular moment. Who was this guy anyway... she tried to sift through the drunken haze that had been the season's party she'd attended and came up only with what the cellar floor looked like. Pity that.

Vicky sat next to him taking his hand, he liked her but barely knew her and he wasn’t even sure if this was his family, so much was happening in a short amount of time he couldn’t hardly absorb it all and to make matters worse they sat in a chapel at a funeral for someone he didn’t know or remember. He glanced at her and gave her a quick smile, her hand felt good in his, your welcome although I’m not sure why I’m here?

He looked away and starred at the front of the chapel looking for answers.

What level of hell had she descended into?

Wasna meanin' to ma... Much like her fall, her words were arrested, this time by Tasite's actions. What was with these people and hugs? Her hands balled at her sides, Aasha stiffened. Wanting a blade in her palms was making her fingers itch in the worst way.

And the indignities just continued. Tas then went on to compliment her on the confounded dress Obli had convinced her to wear. Adding insult to injury, she handed Aasha her twin torture devices, otherwise known as heels. Pric'less? Had Tas just called her worthless? Why had she come again? Were Obli and Aayla snickering at her? Casting her eyes backwards, she gave both a warning look just in case, then tried to be polite. Ain't wearin' no damn dress's nae more, nex' dead ken jus' deal wit' my pants. Spec'lly if'n i' be makin' me looks likes some ho'ty-to'ty noble.

Perhaps knowing how tightly Aasha's rein on her temper was, Tas made a quick escape. Aayla finding a seat was the perfect excuse to get all eyes off her, lest she throw the shoes she clutched, so Aasha followed, relaxing only slightly when she ended up between her friend and her lover.

Aayla wrote:Aayla took one look at Aasha as she sunk into the seat and sighed dramatically. Hiking up her skirt she reached under the layers of fluff to find a secret pocket sewn into the folds of the black fabric. Slipping the flask from its hidden pouch she grinned, it almost was worth having to clean her blades to make the tailor alter the dress to her request... almost... English blood had a way of staining.

Returning her skirts to their former puffy selves she handed the rather full flask to Aasha, hesitating only the briefest of moments as she realized it was the one her brother had given her... oh well she's as good as a sister anyhow. "Drink" she whispered to her friend and returned her gaze to the chapel. There were many people gathered, but it was not full yet, the seat to her left was still unclaimed, so she stuck her feet on it and lounged.

obli. wrote:Obli was lost in the commotion. There were nobles of all sorts in this place and he knew hardly one. Sticking close to his sister and Aasha had been his best idea so far. He took a seat next to Aasha and leaned over to whisper into her ear. "Ye be lookin' jes' 'mazin' Aash. T'ey mes' o' made t'at dress jes' fer ye." He giggled a bit, knowing how uncomfortable she was. "Nay question, ye be t'e pret'ies' lady around." He used the word lady, nowing it would be one of the few time he could without dying.

Dillion wrote:He watched as she withdrew her hand from his, the void that remained was empty and lonely, it is alright Vicky, I like you too but with all of the recent events I would ask that you excuse me, my mind is confused, everything seems jumbled around, having arrived after a war in France and looking to settle for a simpler life and then this… pulling the note from his pocket..A funeral for someone I do not remember and a family I do not know.

I do have a vague memory of my mother talking of the Tudors but she died when I was a small boy. I am glad that you and the others are so nice to me and with time after this funeral I do hope to meet others and try to piece together my heritage or at least answer some questions, perhaps,
looking down as he paused, my father, maybe I will find him.
