“I’m glad to see we have made it in time for dinner, and there is a mixture of old and new faces” It was then Louisa spied her sister … “Nicole !....oh don’t you look stunning …seems being with child suits you ?” hugging her sister, most impressed by the organization that went into designing a menu.

Turning back to those in the room Louisa smiled at Kaylen, Serdan and Meritisi, whom she and Lyskard had met in Lichfield recently. Walking towards her new cousin Myxti "I'm so pleased to finally met you at last"

Louisa then smiled at Arthur and Lynna , "Very pleased to make your acquaintence...please, allow me to introduce my husband Lyskard Llewellyn" as she drew him closer to her..

"Sara, dear... it has been so long since we saw each other. You look lovely. Does court life suit you or do you yearn for the freedom of the forests of Sherwood? Which reminds me, Pieter and I will be staying at Nottingham after Easter. You and Darien must come and visit."

Looking about, and guessing that everyone that was going to make it was here, she went to Nicole, and whispered, "Is all ready to serve? If so, dear, you have more than earned the right to call everyone to sit to dinner. Thank you for all your help." Gabby grasped Nicole's hand and gave it a warm squeeze.

Staying in the Balintyne Estate had broken in some of his awe at how well off people lived but it wasn't complete. It took him a minute to take in the entirety of the room before his eyes fell on the people who were already there. He saw his cousin Darien and his wife Sara and nodded briefly before wandering again. He had no idea what he was supposed to do or say and was thankful that most were engaged in small talk. They seemed like important people and he couldn't help feeling out of place. What have I gotten myself into this time... Then he spotted Kaylen who looked distracted and he smiled. He wondered how surprised she would be from seeing him here.

Casting a glance to Emrys, she grinned and then looked over Kaylen's way, eager to see her reaction. Taking her seat, as Leith pulled it out for her, Gabby gestured to all to sit as well.
Once it seemed all were comfortable, Gabby intoned,
"Thank you, Jah for the bounty you have laid before us. We thank you for the joys that socializing with family and friends brings. May we all be blessed by You, Jah, in our lives and doings. Bless the Isles oh Jah with continued peace. In the name Christos, Amen."

Gabby then signalled the servants to begin serving the first course.

Then they hear a call to take their leaves to attend dinner. Holding Louisa'a hand, Lys escorts her to the dinner table. Gripping the back of a chair, he moves it away to assist her to be seated, next to her sister Nicole. Then removes a chair back for himself to sit beside her.

"It's different that's for sure. I've adjusted well though it seems. I've manged to surprise myself at just how well I have manged up until now. I do miss Sherwood but with Darien and I being so busy lately it is hard to find the time currently. Your offer sounds lovely. I for one will defiantly take you up on that." Sara replied.

Returning her cousin's embrace smiled in relief that Gabby approved of her dress. "Thank you Cousin, I was afraid it might have been too revealing." she said softly, before turning to note the people that Gabby was pointing out. She hoped she could remember their names. At finding out that there were more cousins she nodded and made a not to meet them before she left.

Smiling at Nicole "I'm sure it will be wonderful." She felt slightly sad to realize she hardly knew most of her family. Pursing her lips slightly she decided that she would try and remedy that soon.

As more people arrived Kaylen stepped away from Gabby and let her talk with her guests. She was startled to hear the name Balintyne and she raised her eyebrow looking at the man and his wife. He must be related to Emrys, and she wondered how.

Brushing her hair out of her face, and looked around the room, she saw that everyone was engaged in friendly chatter. As her eyes swept over the room, she passed over a lone figure before freezing, and slowly turning to look at him.

Kaylen's gray eyes widened in surprise as she took in the familiar face and body. She swore her heart stopped before speeding up to twice it's normal rhythm. Her mouth dropped open and she stared at Emrys for a very long moment, before realizing that dinner had been announced. She blinked and closed her mouth, her eyes dancing with joy and excitement. She wanted to laugh and clap her hands, but she knew she shouldn't. But even though she didn't do that, she could not stop the grin that lifted her lips, or the way her eyes lit up when she saw him.

Breathing in deeply she brushed her hair out of her eyes, her eyes shot to Gabby and she saw the grin on her face, and shook her head slightly. She would have to talk to her Cousin later, and thank her. She frowned slightly wondering how her Cousin had known his name...for she had not...maybe it was Serdan...but then Gabby had her ways. She glanced at Serdan as well, but he didn't seem to have noticed Emrys yet and she wondered what his reaction would be.

Running her hands down her dress fighting the urge to giggle she nodded at Emrys before taking a seat near the middle of the table. Feeling the soft fabric of her dress swish against her legs. Folding her hands in her lap as Gabby prayed Kaylen couldn't help but find Emry's with her eyes...what she had thought was going to be a dreary night...suddenly looked very interesting.

Please call on me if there's anything..." For some reason, he couldn't quite call Darien by his name or cousin in public yet. He reckoned that it would take some time and some getting used to. He had the same sentiment towards Sara and still felt embarassed every time he remembered the day he met her.

He quickly slid into the seat next to Kaylen when Lady Gabrielle gestured for them to sit. He wanted to know first hand about what she thought of his attendance. He tried to keep a grin from showing but he mostly failed. "Amen..." He turned to her and let a mischievous smile flash across his face. "Good evening, Miss Hamilton. I hope you don't mind me sitting next to you. After our dance lessons, I figured I needed some for fine dining as well."

Tilting her head she raised her eyebrow "I bet you do not need lessons in fine dining anymore than you needed them in dancing." she said trying to smile demurely rather than a full out grin. She was still surprised that he was here...sitting beside her...at her family home. "How are you this night?" she asked.

Although they worked for the same person it did not mean they were able to see each other when they wanted to. Kaylen was usually in the nursery with the twins, and they did not see each other nearly as much as she wanted, but then...maybe that was for the best. After all, she wasn't sure of how much he liked her. She knew he respected her, and her honor but that did not translate into anything more...or maybe it did...she wasn't sure.

With a mental shake of her head she pushed serious thoughts out of her mind, because for now she just wanted to enjoy....her eyes widened slightly as something else went through her mind...if Gabby had invited him...then that means that at least she wasn't opposed to Emrys. The thought made her grin more...

She didn't seem to mind at all and he smiled when she said so. "I'm not sure yet." The best answer was an honest one... He paused for a few seconds before speaking up again. "I thought the hardest part was choosing what to wear but I changed my mind when I was standing outside your gate." He chuckled as he remembered how hesitant he was to cross into Hamilton territory. He pushed the image from his thoughts and focused his attention on her. "I'm glad I'm here though."

For the first time that night, he looked at her. Her gray eyes were as enigmatic as he remembered. The way she would allow her emotions to flow through them and then block any insight into her state of mind, almost completely at will, had him baffled. More than anything else, he was a child of curiosity and thought that it was natural to be drawn to her. The blackest hair in England... It coursed freely from the top of her head down to her back. The color of her dress paled in comparison but it more than made up for it by hugging her body. His eyes slowly drifted back to hers and he had to breathe before opening his mouth again. "You look...amazing."

He sat up and leaned against his chair to give way to the servants presenting the first course of the evening. He'd only been to a dinner like this once and wasn't sure if he remembered all the right things. "The lesson begins..." He smiled and gave her an inquiring glance.

Turning her attention back to her sister, Louisa replied eyes sparkling “Wonderful!” she exclaimed “I have never enjoyed myself so much nor laughed as much as we did, I’ve come to the conclusion that I could become quite accustomed to a honeymoon each year” as she grinned impishly as Lys.

Taking in her sister appearance remarked....“You are looking exceeding lovely Nicole…seems being with child suits you very well, I hope everything is well with you and my future niece or nephew?”
