Ireland, 14 March 1458

The more time she spent with Obli, the worse she felt about letting her relationship with Donnor continue. It wasn't that she didn't know it was over, it was. She had figured that out the night he left, when he had not returned. It was confirmed every day since. She had already gone through stages of grief and rage, resignation and resolve. It was past time, the lingering pain from his desertion needed to be set aside so she could be happy without guilt. Aasha had consulted with many on what to do, and all had said the same. A hand bre...parting had to occur. It could be simple or complex, it was entirely up to her. Aasha preferred simplicity, as long as it was done.

She had not discussed it with Obli, other than telling him she wanted things ended with Donnor. It was something she felt she had to do on her own. She knew he would support her...it wasn't that she had to show strength in this, without his support, or she wouldn't do it. It would be painful, acknowledging her failure, she needed to feel that pain. If he were present, she wouldn't.

Aasha traveled to the site where they had gotten married. She told very few of her intentions, Aayla, Arthur, Tasite a few she considered friends. She didn't expect anyone to be here but it didn't matter. The clearing, though overgrown some, looked the same. It had been almost a year since she had traveled here yet so much had changed in her life. Aasha slipped the pack off her shoulder and began to gather wood, lighting a fire near the stone alter. Kneeling before it when she was done. Memories flashed through her mind, happiness with Donnor intertwined with the pain of his leaving. Tears flowed easily, for what she'd lost, for what she was gaining. This was the right thing to do.

Breaking Hands Empty Re: Breaking Hands

Post  Aasha Mon Mar 15, 2010 1:20 am

Aasha chastised herself for taking the time to cry now, when she wasn't finished setting things up. Rising from the dew covered grass, the hem of her shift soaked where her knees had pressed into the moisture, the girl grabbed her pack again.

It felt odd, wearing the shirt she'd worn to her wedding, remembering how happy she'd been that day. She thought her whole life was ahead of her, that they would never be apart...now, she had little desire to be near him, too many broken promises lay between them.

This day was to put it all behind her, to forgive what she could, and set aside the rest so it didn't taint her future. Aasha closed her eyes, a small smile curving her lips upward. She had a future to look forward to, knowing that gave her the strength to do this.

Crossing to Storm, she ran her hands the length of the mare's back, then pulled a few more items from her pack. A flask, a small bundle of letters, a damaged leather bodice. With the items tucked carefully into her arm, she secured the pack to the mare. The grass was cool on her bare feet, causing the girl to shiver. Patting the mare's rump, she let her wander before moving back to kneel before the alter again, laying each item carefully upon it. Letting memories come freely to the surface. No reason to fight them now, they held no power unless she let them, and she was determined not to let them.

obli. wrote:Obli hid his disappointment well as Aasha told him she was off to end things with her husband and didn't request him to join her. He couldn't remember the last time they were apart like this. He didn't like it one bit. Not that it mattered much. He'd follow her regardless. He saw her off, with a kiss goodbye and headed toward the vegetable gardens they had together. Moving in with Aasha had been the best thing he'd done in a while. He had tilled a little land next to hers and planted his own little vegetable plot next to hers. Really, it was closer to one big garden then separate plots, but that was merely details. He knelt down in the garden and began picking some of the nourishment, allowing for her to have a healthy start.

When he was satisfied with the distance, he immediately stopped what he was doing, gathered a few items and left their house. He was determined to follow her whether she liked it or not. It's just what you did when you loved someone. In all actuality, it wasn't following Aasha as much as letting Kael chase after Storm's scent. Obli was placing a lot of faith in Kael following Storm's scent, but he hadn't let Obli down yet in their time together.
"Do whet ye ken, Kael." He said calmly. Not wasting a minute, they were off to a destination unknown to either of them.

Kael had done better than Obli expected. He slowed Kael as they approached a clearing Stopping to look around, he spotted Aasha and Storm. He dismounted and whispered into Kael
"Stay 'ere Kael. Nay be t'e time t'be seein' yer frien'." He considered tying him up, it would be a first, but he decided against it. He spotted a nearby tree and walked over to it, leaning against it. He grabbed an apple from his satchel and began cutting pieces from his with one of the daggers he'd taken to carrying with him. He purposely placed himself in plain view of Aasha, should she decide to look around. A small groan escaped as he watched her send Storm to wander. He could only control Kael so much and Storm wandering freely wouldn't help matters. He watched her from a distance, noting that she appeared upset. He fought the urge to run to her - to take away all her pain. Distracted by watching Aasha, Obli nicked his thumb while cutting a slice from the apple.

Tasite wrote:Tasite wasn't feeling quite like herself when she got a letter from Aasha; but after reading it she knew her worries were not as big as they seemed. Tas had felt draw to Aasha the moment she met her...unlike her bubbling son who took a greater liking to the woman. Tas giggles at the memories of Marius looking for Aasha all over the castle and Aasha taking great lengths to hide from all the kids. Tas felt privileged to be counted as one of Aasha friends since she knew how hard that woman guarded her heart from others, so she had no intention of letting her friend go through this alone and if anyone said anything she would just yell. Aasha is her friend and anyone that was anyone knew how she would always be there for a friend in need no matter what. Then she'd tell them to do stick it if they didn't understand. Boy that felt good to say that out loud...too bad no one heard it she thought.

Tas checked with the nanny then gave her son a kiss before going to pack a small travel bag. After giving everything one last look she then noticed she might be over dressed. Giving it some thought she remembers the clothes she hid from the staff just in case she need to get out without being notice. Much better she thought as she left her room; descending the stairs, and out to the stables. Just as she was about to mount her horse Wildfire she heard a voice yelling for her to stop. OH No!!! of all the people why did it have to be him? Kaige was captain of the guard and hard to get around when she wanted to do something alone. "STOP AT ONCE!" she heard again... Now if you know her, then you know she was not good at listening and even worse at taking orders. So she decided to make him chase her to see how far he would travel before he quit. So in a funny voice Tas yelled.. NEVER!! Then took off like fire was trailing her.

After losing Kaige in the town square, boarding a boat with her horse in tow they traveled for what seem like forever. The boat finally made it to the dock where she and her horse left for the spot Aasha had mentioned in the letter. To her this was like walking down memory lane...only she was remembering her wedding, the birth of her son and then the loss of her husband. She always wondered if it would be better if he was still alive and had just left her but after all this Aasha was going through she knew no matter how anyone lost a loved one the pain was bad. Tas told herself she would never cry and she hadn't. She was going to be a strong mother for her son no matter what. After a few more moments of riding she saw a fire then a clearing. Aasha was kneeling before it so Tas just stood there letting her friend have her moment of silence.

--Kaige_D_Peril wrote:Damn Tudor women! This was supposed to be a cushy job, easy money. Not when the Tudor women were concerned. No way, they were all headstrong and willful, didn't listen to save a man's life. And save it was exactly what she'd have to do. If he lost her, Lord Tudor would have his hide. No matter how pretty they were to look at, no woman was worth this bother. He was going to skin her alive!

Kaige was still cursing women when he boarded the ship, staying far enough away from Tasite that she wouldn't cuff his ear, but close enough to scare off any men fool enough to get near her. What a thankless job this was turning out to be. On a ship going to the middle of nowhere, why the hell would he want to return to Ireland? Why was she?

She darted off so quickly that he had a hard time keeping track of her in the square, too many children and yipping dogs darting between his feet. She'd done the same in England, or tried, but he was armed with the knowledge of where she was going. Renting a horse, the man mounted and followed at a safe distance, continuing to heap curses upon her head, along with every Tudor woman he'd had the misfortune to meet. As he reached the clearing, he dismounted and groaned. Oh Jah, they were here to see her? She was the worst of the lot, beautiful but deadly. A pox on men's minds everywhere. Tasite was a much prettier sight, she knew how to be soft. Leering at the woman in question, he moved to her horse and bowed.
May I help you dismount milady? You and I both know Lord Arthur would be quite disappointed were you here on your own.

Tasite wrote:"May I help you dismount milady? You and I both know Lord Arthur would be quite disappointed were you here on your own."

Tas was rather bothered that she didn't lose him. How can I ever blend in if you're here to help me do the little things everyone else does alone? I couldn't just pay you to say you don't know where I am could I? she said with a smile.

Kaige_D_Peril wrote:Now you know I can not do that milady Tudor. Why the stories I've heard of Irish shores, you need a big strong man to protect you from the hooligans around here. My life would have no meaning were something to happen to you. Kaige smiled charmingly at Tasite, then bowed again. I will stand aside and watch rather than be at your side if you insist, but rest assured even at a distance I will guard you well.

Kaige moved back before she insisted he leave, tying his mount to a tree. There were very few here, just his charge, the crazy lady, and another man. Maybe he was Aasha's guard? Kaige laughed at the thought, like that one would let anyone guard her. At least he was not going to be the only man around. Kaige made his way to Obli, casually leaning on a nearby tree. Looking around once more, he just about swallowed his tongue when he saw how Aasha was dressed. Good Jah, she's half naked. Will you get a look at that? Leering, he looked from the woman kneeling to the man, only then noticing the man's gaze had not left her. Apparently he was enjoying the view as much as Kaige was.

obli. wrote:Without taking his eyes off Aasha, Obli whipped the dagger in his hand pressing it against the strange man's neck. He fought with difficulty from falling into the stillness that filled him in situations like this. If he lost control, there would be blood, lots of blood. He heard they still hadn't found a replacement bartender - a result of his last kill. "Ye be doin' well ifn ye mind yer tongue an 'vert yer lustful eyes, 'lessn ye wants t'loose t'em." He said with a cold and eerie calmness. He turned and looked at the man, the color in his eyes slowly fading to black as his pupils grew. He face was emotionless. He regained a little control, he took it that opportunity to remove the blade from the man's neck and returned to watching Aasha. If she needed him, he didn't want to miss his queue.

Aasha wrote:Aasha was vaguely aware that there was someone else present now. She was glad she'd not shed anymore tears, crying alone was one thing, having witnesses to the event another. She refused to show weakness in front of most people, only a select few had earned that level of trust. Without knowing who it was, she wouldn't take that chance.

The girl did not rise, instead schooling her features before turning her head to take in the scene. Only someone extremely close would notice the moisture glittering in her eyes. She had half expected to be alone, so it was a surprise to see not one, but three present. At least she'd had time to set up before their arrival.

Her eyes flickered first to the men...Obli had followed? Aasha felt a small measure of relief at his presence. The first genuine smile since she'd left their house crossed her face before it went blank again. As much as she claimed to not want his support, she did...pain be damned. She would feel it no matter what, this way she could find comfort later...well...maybe not. At least not until they were alone.

She forced her eyes from him to look at the other man. Her perfectly blank expression showed disgust when she recognized the captain of the guards from the Tudor estate. The few encounters she'd had with the man had not impressed her. He looked shaken, giving Obli very odd looks from time to time. There was a story there, one she normally would have pushed for, but today she would trust Obli to take care of himself...this would be taxing enough without more conflict.

Aasha's eyes left the men to scan the clearing, lighting on Tasite next. Now Kaige's presence made sense...he'd come with her. She inclined her head in greeting before turning back to the alter. What should she say? Welcome to the end of my marriage? Aasha chose to say nothing, staring into the flames for guidance.

Aayla wrote:Aayla slipped into the clearing and of course slipped being another word for tumbles head first out of a seemingly average bush landing square on her bottom. Having left her horse behind she looked much like a woman who just trudged through a forest the hard way and was muttering softly, "...just a little walk, fresh air'll do me good...bloody idiot I am.." Picking a few stray twigs and leaves from her hair she picked herself up an looked down to see if she had managed to at least stay somewhat presentable. Soft leather pants and boots only somewhat marred by mud and with no tears, and the pale blouse of yellow with only one or two grass stains upon it, she looked a might better than any normal day. Grinning to herself she moved into the open and looked around at the others.

Pause... some blinking. "Oh for the love of Jah man!" she exclaimed quietly voice no more than a whisper. Obli had already drawn steel today, and apparently had issue with the other man present. "Can't bloody take ye anywhere I can't.." she grumbled under her breath, but she did nothing to step in on the man's behalf, everyone's gotta learn sometime not to piss off a Rahl. Truth be told she expected no less of her brother, he was after all her twin. She didn't make a move towards the pair, watching as Obli lowered his blade and stepped back again. With a slight shrug she simply walked past, after all she was not here for him, she was here for Aasha... So it was to Aasha's side she went slowly, She offered Tasite a warm smile, another for her brother, and for the fool man she didn't know a curt frown and nod, stepping to Aasha's side she didn't say anything just lowered herself to kneel at her side.

***Edited for personality disorder... I do know who I am... really...***

--Kaige_D_Peril wrote:Kaige could feel panic creeping in, his eyes going wide when Obli pressed a knife against his throat. Kaige swallowed painfully, images of his throat cut would be torturing his dreams this night. He had never seen a man's eyes change shade that way, why his entire pupil was swallowing the color completely. Who was this man? And what was he to Aasha? He had the distinct impression he should find out before saying another word. There was command in his voice, was he a lord? Oh Jah, he had screwed up royally. Damn those Tudor women!

Kaige was not always the brightest around, but even he was not fool enough to speak, not with a knife to the throat. Well, other than a muffled;
My lips are sealed milord. His eyes however, well lets just say there was no way Obli would be able to tell who he was looking at if he moved away. Which he did, the moment the blade moved off his neck, Kaige shifted position. His tiny brain began spinning, he would exact revenge at the first opportunity. Until then, Tasite was much safer to stand beside. Once he was assured the man's attention returned to Aasha, he let his own eyes roam her form, then looked towards his charge. Horrible assignment, but damn good view. And would you look at that, another fine lady entering, well more like tumbling into the clearing. She quite took his breath away. Kaige smiled broadly, not discouraged by her look in the slightest. Licking his lips lasciviously as she passed, he watched her move towards Aasha. Once she was kneeling, he leaned back against a tree trunk, almost falling over when he misjudged the distance.

Tasite wrote:Tas was watching Aasha when she notice someone holding a blade to Kaige's throat. At first she wondered what he said to piss him off; but knowing Kaige and his way with words it could have been anything. Growling under her breath she dismounted from her horse and for once she was happy to be wearing some leather pants and boots she had the maid get her for town. She had ignored the look of disapproval the maid had given her, along with the lecture of how a lady of noble breeding should dress. She smiled remembering the maid's words; "Why if a man of noble breeding saw you looking like that, they would be drooling all over you. There are even some women who would swoon seeing you dressed so inappropriately." The maid had been right, the man on the ship sure had trouble keeping his tongue in his mouth. She really didn't care, she knew Aasha and her friends would love it. Plus, pants made it easier to reach the two silver blades she had tucked into sheaths at her hips. Tas walked over to both men. Looking at Kaige; If you must stay please act as if you have some manners this isn't the time or place for what ever. Looking at the man kneeling and watching Aasha with very caring eyes; I apologize for what he might have said but please for now lets keep our tempers under rap for Aasha's sake. She had take but a few steps when her hair went flying with the wind. Turn she look at them again her eyes narrow and she smiled thinking maybe I will get a chance to use the blades Aayla give me as she looked at them; Play nice understand.

Tas saw Aayla smiling so she returned the smile happy to see her friend again. Some sadness was mingled with her smile since she didn't see Radh. She so hoped he would join her on this trip. After his sudden departure she wasn't sure of anything any more.*sigh* This wasn't the day to think of him, this was for Aasha so she walked up to her side and without a word knelt next to her.

obli. wrote:Obli sighed. "Sissy, ifn ye be 'ere too when t'is idgit's mout' open'd, 'e be 'avin' two blades in 'im. T'is be r'straint." He said the last sentence matter-or-factly. He turned his attention to the man. "Same be goin' fer 'er too. Meh dun need t'see ye act like an idgit, jes' t'ink yer actin' 'rong." His voice held a hint of aggression embedded in a warning towards the man.

He cursed under his breath as yet another person approached him. She was new. He'd never seen her before. Who the hell were these people? Obviously Aasha had invited them, or they couldn't possibly be here. Hopefully this one wasn't as much of an idiot as the man that came with her. As she approached his eyes caught sigh of the blades on her hip. He'd recognize those hilts anywhere - they were his own creation. How did SHE get HIS blades!? It started alright, with her scolding the idiot, took a turn for the worse when Obli was included in the following sentence.
"Lass, ifn ye ken nay keep yer 'usband's eyes t' 'imself or jes' ye - meh be 'elpin' ye ou' - but 'e nay be 'avin' eyes. As fer 'is tongue, ifn 'e speaks ill o' meh love, Aash, again - or meh Sissy...well, ye be 'avin' a blind an' mute 'usband." His tone was flat and emotionless. He'd been practicing when he was alone. He added one last thing for measure. "Meh 'opes ye ken use t'ose blades. Meh nay be makin' t'em fer fash'in."

He sighed in exasperation. "Now will ye all go be wit Aash? She wants ye 'ere fer a re'son." His hand motioned like he was shooing them away. One knife, at one fool's throat and everyone thinks they have to some talk to him about it. He didn't kill him - didn't even cut him - my Jah!

--Kaige_D_Peril wrote:Kaige could not believe it. He had deliberately moved away from the man, and Tasite wanted to go near him? Well, he sure as hell was not going to follow her. Arthur had not warned him that things were this crazy in Ireland, especially not when they were only here for some fool ceremony. He was asking for hazardous duty pay for this trip. And what was up with this guy? His English was as bad, if not worse than Aasha's. Did no one in this jah forsaken country know how to talk correctly?

Husband? Kaige looked at the Irishman like he had lost his mind. Straightening to his full and considerable height, he met Obli's eyes.
I am Kaige D Peril milord, Captain of the guard for the Royal and most distinguished Tudor household. I am here for Lady Tasite, but am most certainly not her husband. I could not get so lucky. Kaige bowed before moving to a tree further away, as if afraid their craziness would rub off on him.

If they couldn't control themselves, she was going to find a quiet place to be alone to do this. She couldn't handle their turmoil on top of her own. Aasha sighed when it seemed to settle down, first Aayla, then Tasite kneeling beside her. Glancing between the two, she tried to smile, then murmured; Thanks fer bein' 'ere...ummm...I'm gonna gets start'd. Ain't thinkin' there gonna be nob'dy else comin'. Didna 'xp'cts ya'll...an' nae Obli neith'r.

Obli...Aasha stood gracefully, forcing another smile for the women before turning to meet his gaze. It took great willpower to keep from running to him and burying her head in his chest, the magnitude of what she was doing, while right, was still weighing heavily on her. She wouldn't let herself though, she was still convinced she needed to handle this on her own. Aasha tried to show gratitude for his presence without saying a word, her eyes alight with feelings she wouldn't hide from him. She let her eyes roam over him, holding the picture in her mind before turning back to the alter. Aasha was nervous, she wasn't quite sure what to do, what she had planned wasn't intended for an audience. Kneeling again, she whispered; I...ummm...ken ya'll moves back jus' a bit. I needs to do this on my own, an' I ain't sure I ken if'n I ken see ya'll 'side me.

He saw Aasha turn and look at him. Momentarily distracted by her, he smiled and nodded. His back still leaning against the tree. He took another slice of the apple and scanned the clearing. If Donnor showed to have his hand broken - or whatever they were doing, he'd have a dagger ready for him.

Aayla wrote:Aayla had told herself she would be here for her friend and not get sucked into the daftness that followed men around, but it was hard to bite her tongue... and painful too. She smiled when Aasha looked her way but otherwise threw scowls at the two men. Even if one of them was her brother, right now he was being an overprotective git of a man... protecting Aasha HA! from what? the very idea brought a slight smirk to her lips and of course she hoped Aasha would not catch that and misread the mirth. Studiously masking her face she edged back from Aasha, standing and moving off to one side her hands relaxed at her sides and as a force of habit resting on the hilts of the two daggers tucked at her hips.

She'd seen many rituals, and had an idea of what Aasha had intended coming here, but she hardly knew how she planned on going about it. Well, she was here to do as Aasha needed, and secretly she hoped the worm...err Donnor would show up so she'd get to break a couple of his hands... Again a small snort of laughter at her unspoken thoughts broke through the mask as she tried to cover it up with a will timed cough.

But not for long. Kaige cursed under his breath, moving backwards until he was shadowed by trees. He could enjoy the view of the lovely ladies from here without incurring the wrath of the guy with the death wish. His love. Kaige just could not get over the idea. Were all Irishmen out of their ever loving minds? Must be all the whiskey he had heard tell they drank. His attention drawn when the women moved, Kaige forgot about Obli while enjoying the flash of skin he was treated to. Tasite was off limits, Aasha was scary, but Aayla. My Jah, what a treasure she was, even if she was related to him.

It was cute how he was protecting her. Even if she never really needed much protecting it was still sweet to know he was willing to give it a go. As she knelt down next to Aasha she heard the man call Kaige her husband. She didn't know if she should have laugh at that or something else, she chose the something else seeing as he didn't know her husband had died leaving her to raise her son alone.

Tas continued to watch Aasha as she moved about the flames then returning to kneel next to them. Hearing her ask them to move back a little she looked at Aayla and with a nod they took some steps back.

Aasha wrote:Aasha smiled thankfully when both women moved back a little. It really was time to start. With a deep sigh, Aasha looked at the items she assembled, then slowly picked up the bundle of letters. She slowly unfolded each one, scanning the words before dropping them into the flames. The smoke thickened, turning darker as ashes drifted from the fire, carried away by the slight breeze that had come up. The sky was getting darker, almost like it sensed her mood. Aasha waited until each was incinerated before dropping another, until the small stack was gone, then picked up the leather bodice. She wasn't sure how well it would burn, but hoped the accelerant she planned on using would make sure it did. The girl lifted the flask, opening it to pour the contents onto the bodice, then dropped it into the flames. Up until this point, she'd not said a word. Aasha looked towards her friends, then back to the fire. Lett'rs was from Donnor...clothin' from my weddin'...worn fer 'im when we was happy t'geth'r. An' we was...fer a while. I ken nae do tha' if'n I'm holdin' onto things wha' dun hold no meanin' fer me nom're. She looked at the flask, then added it to the steadily growing flames.

She tried to remember what she was supposed to say, then realized that was when she tossed the ring. Shrugging out of the red shirt, Aasha shivered, the breeze bringing goosebumps to her arms despite the blaze. I ken nae burn Donnor, bu' I ken lets the las' o' 'is things goes up inna fire... She dropped the shirt in, her eyes drawn to the flames as they danced. Tears began streaming down her face, despite her best efforts to hold them back. He would always hold a piece of her heart...even after this...but he would no longer have the power to tear it apart.

Kaige_D_Peril wrote:Kaige watched silently as the crazy woman began burning her belongings. He had no idea what she was doing, but it was mighty entertaining, at least for a while. He was beginning to get bored, there was only so much burning he could watch before the novelty wore off. That is, until Aasha took her shirt off. My Jah, he had died and gone to heaven. Silently saying a heartfelt thanks to Jah for the vision before him, he licked his lips, then shifted his eyes nervously towards Obli before moving further back into the shadows. Maybe he would refrain from asking Lord Arthur for hazard pay after all, this was more than worth the danger involved.

Her gaze flitted over to her brother then, while she knew this was very hard on Aasha, she also knew that standing and watching this would not be easy on her brother… and not just for the alcohol abuse. She noticed then, watching her brother the man in the shadows still staring at Aasha, and it earned him another frown, silently she made a note to stab him later before turning her attention back to Aasha. This was something she was unused to, she didn’t do ‘emotional pain’ this was something she couldn’t set, herb or tell her to stop whining about it’ll heal… So like the dumb ox she was, she just stood there ready should Aasha need someone stabbed or… whatever.

After a few moments of silence Aasha took off her shirt and after a few words into the flames it went. Are you kidding me, Tasite wasn't slow she turn her attention over toward Kaige to make sure he was behaving himself. "Nope" as usual he was drooling like a nut. She gave him a bad look then return her attention to Aasha. Tasite wanted her attention to be on her friend so if anything was needed she would be there to help.... that's all anyone can really do to help a friend.

Aasha wrote:It wasn't supposed to be this hard, she wanted things over with Donnor, so why was the pain so bad? Stupid memories! Reliving the moment he walked away, Aasha felt a crushing sense of failure. She rubbed her arms, chilled despite the fire. More than anything, she wanted to turn to Obli and bury her head in his chest. To lean on him for support and comfort...but if she did, she wouldn't finish. Whoever said it was better to have loved and lost than never loved at all was a damn idiot. She couldn't go through this again, if she lost Obli too...Aasha bit her lip, burying that thought the moment it surfaced. Some things she couldn't bear thinking about, that was one of them.

Refusing to meet anyone's gaze, Aasha rose shakily. Only one thing left...glancing around, Aasha blanched. There was no stream in the clearing. What was it she was told? If she threw it in still water, there was a chance of them getting back together, if it was in moving water, there was none. Aasha didn't want another chance with Donnor, it had to flow swiftly, carrying the ring as far as possible. Wait...there was a stream nearby, she had found it after the wedding, when they had gone exploring. Where was it? Aasha closed her eyes, trying to think. The sky had grown darker, storm clouds blocking out the sun. As the first drizzle of rain began to fall, the girl opened her eyes and began to move. She didn't think to say where she was going, too intent on retracing her steps from that night so long ago.

It wasn't too far, she had left the clearing and gone only a few feet when she came upon the creek, stopping at the edge to stare into it's surface. Now what was it she was supposed to say? - Take off the ring first, you fool! - Aasha tugged, then cursed. It wasn't coming off! The girl tugged harder, sharp pain radiating down her finger when she twisted it rather than the ring. Bloody hell, she'd broken her finger and the ring still refused to budge. It was as if someone was trying to stop her before she could cast him aside completely. No way! She wouldn't let fate, or anything else stop this. Blocking the pain, she twisted mercilessly until the ring finally came off, her finger already swelling. Hopes a fing'rs 'nuff ta be breakin', I ain't aimin' to be breakin' my whole damn 'and...

Aasha glared at the ring before tossing it into the water, a small smile of satisfaction showing when it disappeared from view. Ya ken has yer soul backs, I'm takin' mine. We ain't got no bindin' holdin' us nae more, ain't nothin' holdin' us t'geth'r. Ya dropped me fer the las' time... - Damn, that wasn't what she was supposed to say. Think girl! - I r'le'se ya from me, an' me from ya. We's goin' sep'rate ways. Goes in p'eces, fas' as ya ken o' I'll be takin' p'eces o' yer skin off'n yer hide. Dun care where ya goes, long as yer gone...ya ain't comin' backs. Hopes ya finds happ'ness...well, I dun care if'n ya does o' nae. I a're'dy did, an' ya ain't takin' it from me. Ummm...oh yah...fare ya well, an' fare me well. So mot't be.

obli. wrote:Obli watched as Aasha ventured away from the fire she had built. Not wanting her to get too far away, especially with that creepy guy around - he took off after her quietly, maintaining a good distance from her so she had her space. Again, make sure he was visible to her, he leaned up against a tree that grew next to the bank of the stream. He knelt down by the stream and took a refreshing drink - never taking his eyes off of her. All she needed to do was start to say his name and he would bolt to her side. He watched the distress on her face - his heart ached for her.

Aayla wrote:Aayla had shadowed her friend when she moved from the clearing, and being the ever so helpful had even noticed the girl tugging on the ring, she had been about to offer to help when Aasha seemed to have it well in hand, even if the streak of pain that crossed her friends face marked the finger broken. Aayla folded her hands across her chest, frowning but keeping her silence as she stayed always just a few paces from Aasha.

She had to bite down on her tongue when Aasha said her farewell to the marriage, there were a few dark and twisty things she could have added, and it was almost painful for the woman to hold back hysterical and almost mad laughter at the thought of wishing Donnor happiness. Her voice low she added her own “Go n-ithe an cat thú is go n-ithe an diabhal an cat” the guttural Gaelic tones leaving little doubt about the tenor of the ‘wish’ she bestowed on her friend’s former husband.

Tasite wrote:Tasite had watched as Aasha left the clearing with the young man and Aayla following. Standing quickly she follow them to a stream. Tas had got there just in time to see Aasha tugging very hard at her finger. What in the hell was she doing? Doesn't she know you can... To late for those words after she saw the look on her face. Dear jah what was so important to get off her finger that she broke it to remove it. Then she saw it her wedding ring. Now it was clear she was trying to remove her ring. Tas understood all to well the need to be released from the pains of the past.. but why in the hell didn't she just give a gentle tugs and twist. That was Aash tough on the outside and soft on the inside.

Step just close enough to hear her say her goodbyes to Donnor.. Tas just keep quiet for she wasn't sure what to say... Standing there Tas remember the soft words she heard as a child in her mind. "How can I help you to say goodbye? It's OK to hurt, and it's OK to cry. Time will ease your pain as Life's about to change, nothing ever stays the same." When she decide not to say anything just to watch and listen... Aasha didn't the sadness or pain well she got the pain for now. What she needed joy and fun especially after they set that finger of hers. Tas did her best not to giggle at the though of them having to hide Aasha blades so she didn't hurt any of them while they set her finger.

--Kaige_D_Peril wrote:Yes, Kaige was in his element. He was enjoying the view and basking in the attention of not one, but two lovely ladies. Why just look at how they were both taking turns glancing back at him. It took all he had to keep his face calm and his tongue in his mouth. Instead, he smiled winningly at them and watched from the shadows, lest Obli saw him and decided to take exception.

When the rain started and the girl took off, Kaige stood still. He was torn, part of him wanted to follow to see what she would do next, but a bigger part of him wanted to stay with Tasite and Aayla. His dilemma was solved when both ladies followed her. Kaige licked his lips when the rain made their blouses cling to their figures, his eyes almost popping out of his head when they lit upon Aasha again. That shift looked better wet than dry, clinging and almost see through with each raindrop. Kaige stayed far enough back to see and not be seen. Even he was intelligent enough to know that when a woman starts ranting about a man, all men should steer clear. He had the perfect view of all three women, with the added benefit of a natural canopy of trees blocking some of the rain.

Dizmalus wrote:Dizmalus was a bit surprised when he received a letter from Aasha. As with Donnor his relationship to her was almost solely military based, serving with her during many army and siege campaigns. This coupled with a smattering of after-battle tavern celebrations was how they all became friends. And, as time progressed he noticed that he has taken on much more of an advisor and confidante role. This made him wonder. Maybe in this situation a delicate word or eager ear was needed? Easing Stepper onto the ship he sighed outloud, echoing the horse’s apparent uneasiness. Who knew? He so hated walking into situations he knew so very little about… Hmmm... If all else failed, there’s no problem a fine Irish tune couldn’t set right.

* * *

While crossing the water he had time to think on things. He considered himself an ally and friend of the Tudor family. Pertaining to Donner and Aasha, he concluded it would be prudent not to choose sides. For the sanity of everyone, including his own. Noisily, the ship makes dock, as if that conclusive thought was to signaled his arrival. Almost at the same moment the clouded sky gives and it begins to rain."Lovely... What is the exact opposite word for serendipity?" he asked the horse, not really expecting an answer. Crossing the short wooden dock he leads Stepper over to a sturdy oak, latching the colorful leadropes to a branch. Shielding his fine coat with his multi-hued cloak, from this short distance he sees a group of familiar and very animated faces. He moves quietly and quickly to join the group now moving away from the clearing.

Aasha wrote:She had been so intent on remembering what to say to end the marriage that she'd completely missed being followed. It wasn't that it mattered if they witnessed it, it was her failure at knowing that bothered her. Maybe it was a good thing that she wasn't alone, her awareness of her surroundings was sorely lacking when overshadowed by emotional anguish. Aasha hated that the parting was affecting her so badly. Perhaps it was her own fault though, she had allowed memories to flow freely, thinking she could put them behind her easier that way. The dam had been broken, too many assaulting at once when the only thing she wanted to cling to now was her present and her future.

No longer a gentle drizzle, it was raining in earnest now, effectively hiding her tears. She had always enjoyed rain, everything seemed so fresh afterwards. Aasha let the raindrops cleanse her mind and spirit, the bond was broken, she was renewed.

Aasha turned from the bank, eyes drifting from Aayla, who was muttering in some odd language, to Tasite, who looked like she was about to burst into laughter. Moving from there to pick Kaige from the shadows of the treeline...what was that man up to now?...to Obli. On him they lingered, finding acceptance and love on his face. Obli... An aching need filled her, she'd just let go of the past, had loved and lost. Should be hiding from anything that would result in the same...yet... Aasha had found happiness with him, her defenses crumbling as if they'd never existed. Tis ov'r...if'n any o' ya gots som'thin' ta add, ya ken...bu' I ain't marr'ed nom're.

Aayla wrote:Aayla had bit her tongue long enough, and with Aasha’s final announcement that she was in fact no longer married, she could no longer contain herself. “Well praise be to all thin's Holy!! It’s ‘ bout gorram time!” She laughed and grinned at Aasha a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, “Com’er you!” Grabbing the smaller woman she pulled her into a big hug something very unlike both women. “Does this mean I gets t’call ye sister now?” she asked between giggles as she released Aasha and moved as quickly as possible out of stabbing range, ducking behind a tree. Peeking around the trunk she laughs but also notices new faces namely Dizmalus … and Kaige which earns him another frown. Her attention back on Aasha she pulls a rather large bottle from her pack and holds it out (still behind the tree) to her. “Drink up lass, tis time t’celebrate!”

Aasha wrote:It had taken her a long time to get to this point, why had she waited so long to set the marriage aside? It had to be more than the feeling of failure. She was free now, no more guilt over having feelings for Obli while still married. Aasha grinned halfheartedly at Aayla, still dealing with her emotional turmoil. Her eyes widened in shock when the other lady pulled her into a hug. What was she supposed to do? She couldn't stab her, hell she'd asked her to come. But a hug? Aasha did nothing, thrown off balance by the gesture, that is, until Aayla moved rapidly away. Then she tottered, almost losing her balance completely.

She was free...free to love again, free to marry... Ya wants ta call me sist'r?!?! She had just put aside her marriage to Donnor and Aayla practically had her married to Obli. Aasha shuddered, the thought of going through this again...she couldn't... Bloody hell; the girl muttered before darting away from them all.

obli. wrote:Obli stood their, leaning comfortably on a tree as he watched the display before him. He winced as she removed the ring from her finger - he had a feeling it hurt more than it was supposed to. He watched her as she tossed it into the water, heart skipping a beat when claimed to no longer be married. Nothing could get in the way of their bliss together - save an idiot who felt like dying.

Obli couldn't help but smile as he watched his sister embrace Aasha and more formally welcome her into the family. Shock filled him as he watched Aasha run off after his sisters warm welcome. Where the hell was she going? He replayed the preceding events in his head. Aayla had greeted her and asked if she could call her sister- Obli's eye went wide realizing what meaning had gotten lost in the dialogue. Innocent enough of a mistake. He ran after her, stifling a chuckle, calling out to her.
"Aash!"

Aayla wrote:She stood there a moment; hand still outstretched holding the bottle to… no one. Aasha had vanished, earning a raised brow and frown from Aayla. What the heck was wrong with her? Aayla slipped around the tree, her eyes scanning for but a moment before she picked up the girls movements. Dropping her small pack and the bottle where she stood she darted off after her, the faintest color on her lips the first indications that her temper was flaring again. Even with the head start, her strides allowed her to catch up with the woman with very little difficulty. “Just wha’ ye be tak’n off fer?” she called out as she closed the space between them. Her hands went to her hips in irritation, the perceived slight clear in her posture; she was both hurt and angry. “I’s Angry… armed… an’sober… so start ‘splaining.”

Aasha wrote:It was a bad idea, she should have stayed married. Then there was a buffer, something to keep herself from getting in too deep. - Stupid git, you know you already are. Why try to deny it now? - She could hear Obli calling for her, along with someone, or maybe more than one someone chasing after her. She tried outrunning them, but couldn't, no matter how fast she moved. Aasha whirled around to face Aayla, tears mingling with the rain pouring down her face. I ken nae be hurts 'gain...dun ya... She didn't get any more out than that, the swift movement to face her friend was a mistake. Her bare feet slipped on the grass, the momentum throwing her off balance. When she slipped, she came down hard on the same hand with the broken finger, jamming it up further. Unable to stop the tumble, she slipped down the bank towards the water, her eyes widening in horror. Aasha went into the stream, choking and flailing as the water covered her head.

Dizmalus wrote:“What in the name of…” He mumbled a protest. There was obviously something more going on than there appeared after seeing Aasha turn away from her request. He approach Aayla to ask what was going on, but the woman was too quick and too involved in the moment. The Rahl sister and her brother dashed after Aasha. Keeping a cautious distance Dizmalus followed after the group with some difficulty. He felt drained. Lack of sleep made his body a mass of aching knots and soreness. He was able to keep up, but his body vehemently protested. All this running and excitement made him feel rather old. “Bah… Maybe leaving Stepper behind wasn’t such a good idea…” he mumbled to no one in particular.

She dropped into the icy water just beside Aasha and quickly pushed herself towards her closing the gap and grabbing a hold of anything she could reach. She was a good swimmer, at least able to keep herself and another afloat should they cooperate. But Aasha was flailing, and so she just barely got a hold of her wrist before it slipped from her grasp again. Kicking with all her might she looped one arm around Aasha’s middle and heaved desperately to pull her to shore only to find they’d been pushed out from the bank far enough that her feet found no footing below them. The added weight of Aasha’s thrashing form did nothing to help the situation, slowly managing to pull Aayla under the water as she fought to stay afloat. Aayla opened her mouth to call for help, Obli… anyone… but she was pulled under at that moment and her lungs burned as she got a chest full of water. If she could breathe to speak she’d have cursed up a storm that would pale even the strongest of men.

Aasha wrote:She was going to die. The icy water covered her head once more, blurring her vision. It was only supposed to carry the ring away, not her too. Facing her fear of the water was not supposed to involve her being in this deep, especially not fast moving water that was tugging insistently on her shift. Aasha felt something touch her wrist. Panicked, she never thought to look and see that it was a person, she lashed out, trying to get away. It didn't work, something...someone...wrapped around her waist. A tiny logical part of her brain tried to scream at her to relax, but the majority of the rest was still in full panic mode. She wanted out, water was not her friend. Aasha grabbed at Aayla, desperate to get a breath of air. Her finger throbbed in agony while her lungs burned. Her hands slipped, flailing into the water. When Aayla went under, Aasha did too. The sky was blocked out by what seemed like mountains of water, her foot tangling in her shift as she fought to stay afloat.

That's going to hurt she thought but Aayla ran one way but continue to talk then Aasha darted off the other way.

Tasite looking confuse Aasha she watched Aasha head for the hills with Aayla following. Tas watched with a bewilder look as Aayla was trying to catch Aasha with not one but two men. This could almost be funny but it wasn't because she wasn't sure what was going on to make Aasha run. Turning she give Kaige a strange look then took off after everyone. Tasite mind was racing when she saw Aayla dive in to the stream. Like Aayla Tas did stop she ran past the two men and into the stream. Tasite wasn't lose her two friends. Keeping her eyes on them both as they went under she prayed she wasn't late and that she had the strength to hold them both because she wasn't going to choose. Aayla I got you she said just hold on to Aasha we can do this. Please don't let go she scream at the man to help as some water when down her throat. Catching her breath she yelled this time to Kaige Kaige where the hell are you as she held on to Aayla and she Aasha. You're so fired one of us drown she thought to herself.

obli. wrote:Obli was right behind his sister - the price he paid for staying a distance back. He panicked as he saw both his sister and Aasha dip below the water. Without hesitation, Obli dove into the water. All that time swimming in the ocean was about to pay off in more than just physique. The cold water burned his eyes and he searched wildly for the two under water. Grabbing them by the arm, he pulled them both towards the surface, knowing a friend on Aasha's was there to help. With a last effort push he forced their heads above water - desperately trying to guide them towards shore. If the woman could only grab one of them, he could manage easier with the other.

When the crazy woman fell into the water, he had to hold back a laugh, practically biting his tongue off when Aayla and then Tasite followed her in. Were all Irish this stupid? Look at that, Obli dove in after them. Yeah, like that was going to work. Lady Tasite seriously expected him to dive in after them all? No way! Grumbling, he grabbed a huge tree limb and held it out from the bank. She's going to drown you all! Show some sense, knock the crazy lady out already!

Aasha fought like her life depended on it, never realizing she was making things worse for her own survival. As one foot came untangled, the other entangled in the material further, the free one kicking out into someone's shin. Her toe throbbed, her lungs were on fire, and her finger was broken badly enough that if she'd stopped to look, she could have seen the break.

Why was someone pulling on her arm? Who had a hold of her waist? Why wouldn't they just leave her alone already? Awareness narrowed, until all she could feel was pain each part of her body, her vision only water edged with darkness. She was rapidly losing strength to fight, it just didn't seem worth the effort, more like torture than anything else.

Aayla wrote:Water and thrashing, pain and the occasional desperate gasp of air...

Soon there were more hands, more people for Aasha to drown in her somewhat crazed quest for land. Bloody hell they were all going to die, and Aayla was stuck smack dab in the middle of it all. When she had been fighting with Aasha alone, it was a struggle to keep them both afloat and fend off the wicked jabs and flailing the girl was dishing out, but add four more arms to that mess and soon Aayla couldn’t quite tell who had who’s what and where up was. Her arm had still been wrapped around Aasha when someone grabbed it, and then someone grabbed the other, and she lost the ability to keep herself up. She’d scream at them all if every time she opened her mouth she got a lung full of ice water. Being pulled in all directions at once, when Aasha stilled some Aayla took advantage of the moment. She wrenched her arms free of all the hands that at this point were more holding her under the water than up above it, she pushed Aasha up and at whoever was fool enough to grab her and silently prayed it was someone close to land or strong enough to overpower the girl. Once free of her “saviors” she easily managed to break the surface, greedily gulping at the air and blinking to focus her eyes again. Silver dots marred her vision, likely from lack of oxygen, and she coughed and sputtered for a moment. Once she was sure she wasn’t being dragged to the bowels of hell she turned to see where everyone was and if anyone had knocked Aasha out yet… turning face first into a large rock a dense THWACK sound the last thing she heard before blacking out.

Kaige_D_Peril wrote:Not a one of them were listening to him. The tree limb lay with no one reaching for it, Aasha was still conscious, and there were way too many hands grabbing at her. Will you look at that! One of them showed sense. Kaige watched Aayla struggle to break free and try to get away. She had almost made it when a thwack revereberated up from the water. Hazardous duty pay, double hazardous duty pay, and new clothes too.

He cursed, slipping down the bank to grab at Aayla, soaking his boots and jacket to get to her. Using all of his considerable strength, he pulled her out, throwing her over his shoulder to climb the embankment. Hazardous duty pay! Once at the top, he laid her down and looked. She was alive, he could see her chest moving. And what a fine chest it was. But she was out cold. Better for him. The lecherous grin was back, Kaige leaned down and planted his lips on hers, taking advantage like any smart guard would do given the circumstances.

She heard "LOOKE OUT" but her lips didn't move in time. Then here was a loud THWACK out she went and in went Kaige after her. So she was able to turn her attention back to Aasha and the man trying to pull her out the water. Tasite was doing her best to help him pull Aasha to shore, until her footing went out she fell forward, hands unable to break her fall her head collided with Aashas... pretty stars.... she thought just before everything went black.

Breaking Hands Empty Re: Breaking Hands

Aasha wrote:She was free! Wait...no, not free. The restricting band around her waist was missing, but there were still too many hands grabbing at her. Aasha tried to tell them to let go, taking in a mouthful of water instead. Choking and gasping for breath, she kicked out again, tearing her shift as her foot hit a submerged rock. Aaackkkk! She couldn't breathe past the water filling her lungs. Aasha fought harder to get free, bring her hands around to force whoever had her to let go, right as Tasite went forward. Sharp, stabbing pain! She was in hell, there was no two ways about it. An oddly fleshy pop was heard as her hand broke between her head and Tasite's. Dazed from the lack of oxygen, her level of pain past what she'd ever had to deal with before, Aasha stopped fighting completely, going limp in Obli's arms.

Aayla wrote:Splitting pain broke through the very pleasant blackness that enveloped Aayla, followed by an odd sensation of lips pressed to hers. She could tell she was breathing unassisted, so there was no reason for lips of any kind to be on her own. Pain pulling her back to reality, brought the fact that she was being kissed, against her will, into sharp focus. She may not be able to say where she was, how she got there or who the heck was kissing her, but she knew where her blades were and how to use them. Less than a breath and cold metal was pressed to the soft skin at the man’s throat, his lips having not yet left hers. The blade twisted only slightly in her grip as she stared, eyes focusing slowly on Kaige’s face.

Swallowing again, not daring to move, Kaige stopped the kiss. You hit your head, passed out. I was trying...trying to save your life. Hazardous duty pay, Jah let him live to see hazardous duty pay.

This made it easier. Not a moment later, Obli noticed someone else was in the water - and she wasn't moving. Instinctively, he grabbed for her, trying to keep her head above water - it was Aash's friend. Swimming without hands was far more difficult - but Obli fought past the difficulty. It was tiring work. As his back rubbed up against the gravel at the shore, he stopped swimming - letting go of each woman he rose and pulled them to shore by their arms. Not the most gentle option - but time was of the essence. "Aash!' He said panicky. He turned to the other woman - realizing he wasn't sure of her name, resorted to lightly smacking the side of her face - hoping she would wake up.

Aayla wrote:Slightest pressure to move the man just that much further back, but she did not do much more. To be truthful her head was splitting like firewood in winter, and she wasn't all together sure what happened or if anything apart from her arm would work. She blinked, eyes slow to focus and the pain grew worse, her body betrayed her control then, a soft groan of pain sliding across her lips without her willing it so. She was going to loose conciousness again soon, and she wanted to make sure Kaige wasn't going to get grabby again. "Sav'n me life don't mean ye get't be fresh wit me..." Her voice was weak and somewhat rough for all the water, but there was little that left to the imagination. She pushed gently again, the tip of her blade pressing against the side of his throat. "Jus... go help me brother..." she said. Trying to sit up she let the hand with the blade fall, and gave up slumping back onto the ground with a pained groan.

Aasha wrote:She could still see darkness at the edges of her vision, though it was a much narrower band than what she saw before. Aasha tried to focus, violently coughing up water. She was alive, somehow she'd lived through her worst nightmare. Aasha felt weak, not a feeling she appreciated at all. It took a few minutes for details to sharpen and make sense, when they did she felt bewildered. Turning her head one way, she saw Obli smacking Tasite's face. the other woman's eyes closed. The other, Kaige kneeling over Aayla. They all jumped in the water? Bloody hell, she was more trouble than she was worth, and all because she got scared? Damn Donnor, this was his fault! She wanted to be happy, not afraid of being hurt. Why couldn't she just...the pain in her hand arrested her thoughts. Fate had done it, her hand was well and truly broken now. Hand parting indeed. Obli, Aasha croaked out hoarsely, unable to say anything else as a spasm hit her throat, causing her to cough up more of the water she'd swallowed.

Tasite wrote:Tasite was having quite a lovely dream, remembering the Irish gentleman that visited her home at Christmas with his lovely sister. She remembered how the first sight of him sent her heart to jumping and his words had her wanting to hear more…then like a dream he was gone. Tasite woke, cold and wet. She wasn’t fully aware of her surroundings, until she felt light smack on the face, then another. She opened her eyes to a strange man smacking her face. Smack me again and you lose a hand; she replied.

--Kaige_D_Peril wrote:He resisted the pressure. No sense in moving back further than he had to, even with a knife at his throat. She had the loveliest eyes, Kaige could stare into them for hours, days. Oh wait, she was talking. Fresh with you milady? Why I would not dream of such a thing. I was merely trying to see if you were breathing properly. I am happy to report that your breathing is almost normal. A little on the shaky side, but relatively normal nonetheless. Kaige smiled charmingly down into her eyes, ignoring the caress of the knife tip. Your brother?

Kaige reluctantly took his eyes off the most beautiful of visages to check out how everyone else had fared. They were all out of the water, had they taken his advice and knocked Aasha out? She did look pale and her eyes were closed. No such luck, he heard her voice, though could not make out what she said. Oh Jah, Lady Tasite's eyes were closed too. There went his hazardous duty pay. Maybe not, she was fine. The threat in her voice unmistakable even from this distance.

Kaige brought his eyes back to Aayla, another winning smile on his face. The blade had dropped, thank Jah for small mercies. Two seconds was all it took to disarm her in her weakened state, letting the blade drop on its own was a stroke of pure genius.
They are fine milady, how may I be of assistance to you?

obli. wrote:Obli heard Aasha call out to him. He wanted desperately to go to her, but speaking meant she was alive, this woman he wasn't to sure. After what felt like eternity, he was relieved as she spoke, yet frustrated by her threat. "T'anks fer savin' meh life - t'at be werkin' jes' as well." The sarcasm was thick in his voice as he left her, muttering "Ye damn ingrate" as he headed over to Aasha. Putting his face close to hers, and taking her hand he spoke softly, "Aash, meh righ' 'ere." His heart throbbed and he kissed her gently - now allowing the love he felt for her to overcome him - no sense in smothering a girl who had almost drowned. He looked up to find his sister, his eyes fell on the lecherous grin on the daft guards face. Obli's eyes went cold as he decided he would be stabbing him later. When everyone was safe.

Aayla wrote:Aayla groaned loudly, one of those gutteral should be dead groans. She had let her fatigue, pain, and the general 'thanks-be-to-Jah-I-ain't-dead' notion allow herself to be disarmed, first reason for the groan. The second being that she felt as if her face had swollen to massive proportions every inch of it aching like the morning after two bottles of Radh's brew! She had to deal with this fool of a man, but for the moment at least she just wanted to curl up on the ground and die... it would be less painful. He was talking... ugh... someone cut out his gorram tongue already because it was rattling around in her head making the throbbing pain worse. "Gahhh.. just shut it yer killin'me!" she hissed between clenched teeth. Rolling onto her side she tried to push herself up to sitting again, and managed with only a little wobble this time. Bringing her hand up to her face she gingerly poked at the flesh and winced, already the right cheek and eye started to swell making it a touch difficult to see. She patted around in the dirt to find her blade, to no avail as she her hands found only... ughh he's still there... Kaige's hand? Leg? ick.. whatever it was she snatched her hands back quickly. "Gods I need a drink.." she muttered under her breath.

Tasite wrote:Looking up at the sky Tasite groaned. "T'anks fer savin' meh life - t'at be werkin' jes' as well." the man said to her then she heard "Ye damn ingrate". Tasite started laughing when she heard that. She had never been called an ingrate before nor had anyone every spoken to her in such a manner. She found it delightful and very funny. Artie would be upset but she wasn't. Trying to stand she looked over at him and Aasha, noticing how he held her and the way he spoke to her, his feelings wonderfully obvious. Walking over to them she looked at her friend Aasha then to him. Putting her hand on his shoulder and saying; Thank you for saving Aasha and me, I realize you didn't have to and you did. I'm sorry I came off snippy, almost drowning and knocking yourself on the head can do that to a person. Again, thank you. From there, she moved over towards Kaige and Aayla. Tasite arched her brow before speaking; Kaige if you don't remove your assets from my friend at once, I'm will remove them for you and I promise, it will be painful.

Krezlar wrote:Krezlar had been riding Star slowly behind Aayla for a few days. he had been tracking her and her horse. He would ride at night and then sleep during the day. The rain had awaken him earlier today. He has mounted Star and was headed slowly in the direction That they had been travekling and had come upon many horses one being Aayla's.

Krez dismounted and tied Star next to Aayla's horse. He made his way slowly through the brush and came quietly to a stop . He saw a man hiding back behind what seemed to be Obli. The man was eyeing Aasha who was half way naked. Aayla was beside her and another woman on the other side of her. He watched as Aasha had went through some ritual of burning items, then proclaiming herself free and no longer married. He was confused but he did not know that much about Aasha or Aayla for that matter. Aayla had said something to her and Aasha had ran off into the woods towards the stream. In succession they all ran after Aasha.

Krez followed slowly watching the man as he slunk around watching all three women, that was enough to make Krez wary of him. Then all of a sudden Krez heard women yelling. The men had all run off and Krez carefully followed, he made it to the stream as Aayla had hit her head on the rock with a loud thwack. The weird man had ran over gotten wet and pulled her up on the bank and leaned over and plied his lips on her mouth. Krez saw red for a minute and then heard the other woman yelling about help. He turned n her direction and saw her hit Aasha head on with her head and her sink into the water.

Krez watched as he came up and saw Obli pulling Aasha and the other woman out of the water. He turned his eyes back to the man who had put his lips on Aayla. she had brought up her dagger and put it at his throat, that was all he needed to jump into action. Having grown up on a farm, he was physically fit and used it to his advantage. He roared Git ye hands off a er ye pig of a man Krez started at a run and hit the man square up the side of his head sending him back wards over the edge of the bank and into the edge of the stream. Quickly with out a second thought he had whipped out his hunting knife and had it cocked in his hand and ready to use; his da had taought him well the use opf a hunting knife and he was fixing to use it on this man fer kisin Aayla. Ye will be apologising to Aayla or else ye be fillin me knife, i's will gut ye like a pig and leave ye just the same. Krez moves close enough to be able to just that if need be!

Aasha wrote:Blessed be. At least one thing was going right since she ended the marriage, Obli was still here. Even after her mad dash because of fears she'd thought she put behind her. Aasha focused on his face, her hand laying weakly in his. A soft sigh followed the kiss. She tried to follow his gaze when he looked away. Her vision was still fuzzy, but she could vaguely make out the form of Aayla, with a man kneeling over her. She hadn't killed her had she? No, if she had Obli would be with Aayla, not her. She ain't too happy wit' me... Even with her throat raw, Aasha felt like she owed Obli...and probably everyone else...an explanation. She just wasn't sure she could give one that made much sense. Obli? I...I ain't marr'ed nom're. I'm sorry... Aasha tried to sit up, bringing her other hand up to twine around his neck, gasping as the pain hit her. Cursing herself for a fool, Aasha began to cry, deep, heart wrenching sobs. Not for the hand parting she'd preformed, but for putting herself and everyone she cared about in danger because of her own insecurities.

--Kaige_D_Peril wrote:Kaige looked with concern at the beautiful lady laying beneath him. That was not a moan of pleasure, Kaige had heard enough moans and groans to hear the difference in the two. The poor Irish lady had truly been hurt by her encounter with the rock. He smiled his most charming smile and stopped talking, convinced she wanted him there with her. After all, she had not asked him to move away.

Being the gentleman he was, Kaige attempted to help Aayla sit up, whether his help was needed or not. His smile widened when she gently caressed his thigh, further convincing him that she was enamored. It was his winning smile, his quick wit, his muscular physique. Women could not resist it when he was being himself. A drink, something he would gladly get for just one more taste of her succulent lips. Kaige had been to Ireland before, someone would have whiskey around, he was sure of it.

Milady Tasite, please rest assured that my, ahem, assets are not upon the lady as anything other than a friendly hand when she is in need. I would never presume to take advantage of such beautiful ladies, why...
That's when some fool man came charging up, accusing him of being a pig. How dare he? Does he not know who I am?

Kaige had not been called a thick headed dunderhead in KoP for nothing. When Krezlar connected with Kaige's head, he shook it, barely dazed by the blow. Hard to rattle a man's brains when he has so few you know. He laughed seeing Krezlar push a log into the stream, then whip out a knife. Aayla's was still in his hand, he was a Royal Tudor Guard, and by Jah, he would act it. He would not let the beast hurt his charge, or the lady who he had rescued from the creek.
Why ever would I fill your knife? Have a care that you do not feel mine, or the good lady's to be precise. If the lady feels I owe her an apology, I will of course gladly give her one. Until that time, I suggest you mind your own business milord. I have been charged with Lady Tasite Tudor's protection, and I will not let you, nor any one else threaten it, or her friends.

Tasite wrote:Thank you Kaige for saving her and making sure she is fine; she said. Her eyes widened when a crazed man came running by yelling at Kaige. The yelling at Kaige isn't anything new but what he did was. Dear jah did this man have a death wish? Tired and a little achy she spoke to the crazy man; Are you daft man? Knocking Kaige over the head while he is helping Aayla to her feet isn't too bright or had you thought that far? Is it me or all you Irish men think headed, love sick and brainless. Sit your arse down and for jah's sake shut up! You're not helping right now. Dear jah I need a bath; she was very upset at this man for messing with Kaige while he held Aayla, but she was very proud of Kaige and how he handled himself, keeping his duties in mind even when provoked.

She had masterfully escaped the guards of the house just like the old days, the thought left a glint of mischief shining across her features. She felt her heart lurch for Aasha knowing this hand to be a hard event for her, stupid men what makes them think we will put up with them acting like cheap whores.

Once everything seemed to settle down after the near drowning mishap she grabbed two bottles from the pack on the horse. She sat them down on the ground as she tied the beast to the tree carefully and gave her a sugar cube to keep her content for a few moments. She smoothed out her tight leather riding pants and tucked her shirt in and gave her boots a quick knock to make sure they weren't muddy and looked to the crowd, Letting out a sigh she picked up the bottles she strolled towards the crowd, “I come bearing gifts. A bottle of scotch and a bottle of whiskey.” she smiled laying them against a log. “Kaige darling if you were trying to suck the water from Aayla's lungs a little less tongue perhaps will help next time.” she gave a mischievous grin.

Breaking Hands Empty Re: Breaking Hands

Tasite wrote:Giggling at her words Tas knew that voice anywhere. Sis thanks jah you're here and you brought drink now we're talking. Stumbling in her direction, sis I think there is something in the water in Ireland that makes the men crazy. As you can see by the daft man that struck Kaige.

Aayla wrote:There was a whirlwind of activity, people going here there and everywhere, shouting and all Aayla could think was that it would be really nice if everyone was silent. There was a powerful thundering in her head and for the life of her she couldn't figure out -what- was making that sound. The irritation was only compounded by the "Wah wah wah" she heard coming out of Kaige's mouth, some lighter trill of a woman... or was that two.

Turning her head she blinked trying to focus on where everyone was, unsuccessful she opted instead to stand up, a feat that in itself was quite a chore. As she started to rise, she noticed Kaige was still hovering... "Bloody hell.." she grumbled as she tried to swat him away, though it only managed to throw her off balance again, her hand reaching out to grab Kaige's arm as it was for the moment the closest thing to her.

This would never do, she had to get as far from all men-type persons that weren't related to her and fast. It was then that her eyes fell on Brianna and the pair of glorious bottles she held in her hands. "Praise be!" she exclaimed and hurled herself away from Kaige, Krezlar, and anyone else not holding a bottle of booze in her pretty little hands.

obli. wrote:He nodded his head at the strange woman's words. Keeping his attention fixed on Aasha. "Ye be sorry ye nay mar'ied?" He teased with a grin that quickly faded as he saw the pain in her face. Obli wrapped in arms under her and lifted her, bringing her a good distance from the water. He whistled loudly for Kael. He knew he had some blankets stored on his packs. The benefits of having a horse you didn't need to tie up. When Kael arrived, he grabbed the two blankets, tossing one to the side for whoever needed it and wrapping the other around Aasha. "Jes' be still Aash, need t'be gettin' ye warm." He turned his head back to the others. "'Ow t' 'ell is meh sis'er!?" He screamed at anyone who would listen. Annoyed he wasn't getting any report. He couldn't balance this all on his own. His eyes fell on Kaige. "G'ard, ifn ye nay get far 'way frem meh sis'er - ye be diggin' meh blades ou' o' ye fer weeks t'come." Obli growled.

Aasha wrote:Aasha clung, burying her face in Obli's shirt as tears ran unchecked down her face. She was a fool, but a damn lucky one. Her voice was muffled against his chest. I'm nae sorry I ain't marr'ed... She was shaking, but more from pain than cold. The blanket felt good, though not nearly as good as being held in his arms. I...purty sure I brok's my hand, an' a fing'r too...

She didn't want to face anyone else, she'd been proud of getting through the hand parting, up until the point she'd proved to them all that she didn't have a lick of sense. Aayla wanted to kill her, who knows what stupidity Kaige was getting into, Tasite had been hurt too, Dizmalus, Lady Brianna and Krezlar had arrived and not been greeted at all...still...all Aasha wanted to do was hide. Bloody hell, she muttered under her breath. Kaige must have done something majorly stupid if Obli was threatening him. She should deal with him, and the rest... Aasha closed her eyes, breathing shallowly when she jarred her hand again. No, she wasn't going to deal with anything, not unless she just stabbed them all then cut her hand off. It hurt too damn bad for anything else.

Kaige_D_Peril wrote:Kaige beamed at Tasite. It was about time someone noticed the good he was doing. Not that he was doing it for praise, but it sure felt nice that a beautiful lady noticed. It was a pleasure to be of service milady. Any gentleman would do the same, I could do no less. He kept an eye on the Irish lad who had pulled the knife, just in case the boy came back for a second round. He doubted it though. He was quite positive that he had scared the man off with his prowess.

Ahh, and the fine, fine Lady Brianna Tudor had arrived. Without a proper escort? He would have someone's head when he got back to the Tudor estate, if Lord Arthur did not have his. What was up with the Tudor women lately? Always trying to get into mischief without him. How dare they! Wiat, tongue? He really should have thought to use more french when kissing Aayla. Damn it all, it was too late now.

Aayla caught his attention, or rather her hand brushing against him did. If you need help milady, all you have to do is ask. When she grabbed his arm, Kaige put on his most charming demeanor, then helped her to her feet. Jah be praised, she was overcome by his manliness, why look at her head away. She was trying to resist. Poor lady, she had not realized yet that it was impossible. Until she came to her senses, he bowed and offered an arm to Lady Brianna. Better to let the man with Aasha cool off before approaching again anyway.
You look lovely as usual Princess. How may I be of service.

Watching closely as Aayla got up from the ground she uncorked the bottle and shook it slightly as she made her way towards it. Noticing Kaige she shook her head “ Service? she smiled with a mischievous glint, ”Ohh I think there are several services I could use you for but im not sure my Captain would be pleased if I did so. And seeing im already in trouble for slipping out of the house unguarded I think ill find someone else for that job. ” she chuckled taking a quick swig from the bottle and passed it along to Aayla with a wink.

She look across at Aasha and Obli wondering if she drunk alot she could understand them. Ya perhaps that was the key to understanding. Perhaps an experiment was needed, chuckling she popped the other bottle and took another long drink.

Krezlar wrote:Krez looked at the man with Hate in his eyes. I's not call kissing her with out er a wannin ye to helping ta make sure she was a right. I seens you watchin all the women tonight. Staring at them like a buck in the rut. next time, if they be one, i make sure that ye go down and maybe ye not be gettin back up! He glared at Kaige as he talked when he was done he spun the knife and slid it into his sheath wth out taking his eyes off the man.

Krez turned to the woman, who had spoken to him, I beg your foregivness mi'lady. I did not sees him as helping as much as trying to grope the young lady! he nodded back at Kaige, he has ben starin at you three ladies improperly all night. Krez bowed slightly to the lady and walked a little ways out of the way and continued to watch the man. His thoughts of Kaige wold not be nice no matter waht this man would do from here on out. He would bare watchin

Aasha wrote:Reality intruded on both her pain, and the comfort she was trying to find in Obli's arms...in the form of an argument between two men she could do without dealing with at all. That was it. She was going to cut the entire hand off at the wrist. Then neither her finger or her hand would be hurting her anymore. But she was going to damn well make sure both men were hurting when she got through with them.

Aasha sighed deeply, wiped her tears with the uninjured hand, then sighed again. She was going to have to make Obli let her down, not something she wanted to do at all. Maybe...rather than moving, she decided to try yelling. Her voice was shaking with anger and not just a little bit of pain when she began ranting; I dun cares wha' the hell ya'll is doin', bu' less'n yer servin' me Donnor onna platt'r, yer nae makin' a scene a' my hand bre...partin'! Ken ya nae waits till I ain't in pain 'fore ya makes me stabs ya all?!? Bloody damn idgits fightin' ov'r Aayla, she'd be stabbin' ya bot' 'fore lettin' ya touch 'er!

Lady_brianna wrote:She looked at the man and then at Aayla then turning back to him “I don't hear words leaving any of these ladies lips that his advances were unwanted. What women doesn't enjoy the gaze of a man looking at them improperly especially when the woman knows he can't have her. Are you Aayla's keeper? I see no ring on her finger, or jewelry that says she belongs to someone. she smirks turning to Aayla. “ Aayla darling is this man your keeper? Is he correct in saying Kaige’s advances were unwanted? If so I would enjoy a few hours punishing him. I could be persuaded to let you help me tease…I mean punish him. she chuckles softly.

She smiles she was in a wild mood this evening taking another drink from the bottle.

Aayla wrote:Aayla was going to ignore the fool men, all fool men... she focused on the bottle of liquor Bri passed her and clutching it in her hands downed as much as she could manage in a short time without sputtering. The burning liquid did wonders to dull the thudding in her head and ease the pain in her face. Aasha was yelling about something, but again the tones were turned into a spear in her head and so was answered with another groan. "Iffin everyone could just... stop yell'n?" She grumbled in a half whisper reaching up to touch her face gingerly again.

The warm haze of alcohol started to move into her head, making the voices around her a bit clearer, and hurt less. Of course this means she also started to hear what was being said. “ Aayla darling is this man your keeper? Is he correct in saying Kaige’s advances were unwanted? If so I would enjoy a few hours punishing him. I could be persuaded to let you help me tease…I mean punish him." She blinks, and blinks again and then takes a hurried gulp of the booze before nearly choking on the liquid. "I ain't got no keeper... iffin ye want... er... go... enjoy!" she hardly managed to get the words out before she doubled over in a fit of giggles.

***edited for spelling mishaps***

Tasite wrote:Tasite knew her sister had everything handled so she decided to sit with Aayla and drink. Watching fool hearted men fight over a women that was clearly not into them wasn't her cup of tea, though with enough alcohol pumped into her system, it might just prove to be amusing.

"I ain't got no keeper... iffin ye want... er... go... enjoy!" Tasite look over at the man then at Bri... then took a few drinks ... looking again... then a few drinks.... Well I tried but can't see it; she said with a straight face…that is until Aayla started laughing. What!! I can't, Look at my sister can you... Bri is very strong will, tough and stubborn. Not in a million years can any man handle her; she said as she burst out laughing.

--Kaige_D_Peril wrote:There were major mystical powers going on in this glen. Must be something to do with the ceremony Aasha had performed, letting someone see what he was doing even under the cover of the forest. And here he thought he had been far enough back that no one could see where his gaze was landing. But as Princess Brianna so aptly stated, not one of the woman in question complained about his eyes on their luscious curves. Kaige totally ignored the glares he had received on more than one occasion, instead focusing on the positive.

Aasha's strident tones reached Kaige's ears, causing the man to wince. No way in hell he was going to be making her more angry, not when he knew how deadly she was. He had seen it first hand, he did not want to see it close up. Let the guy who had glared at him take care of her, he was not going to get close. Concentrate on the beautiful princess Kaige. Kaige smiled at Brianna, then bowed.
I am yours to do with as you will. Tease away milady. I guarantee your enjoyment. Kaige winked, striding up to offer his arm to Princess Brianna and Lady Tasite gallantly.

I was just raised that a man did not look upon a woman in that way, with certain exceptions. Smiles a little bit, he walks over out of the way, Maybe we should be moving back away from the stream and under some cover from this rain

Krez had many things that he wanted to say but something struck him that he had heard from Aayla in recent days. He smiled quietly and shut his mouth of any comments that might get him in trouble.

Of course he meant having her head wound looked at, but it was too good not to chuckle at. He figured she would know what he meant, even if she did scoff at him for teasing her.

Breaking Hands Empty Re: Breaking Hands

Lady_brianna wrote:Listening to the man she shook her head " Well if Aayla needs a protector im sure she can ask for one.

Taking Kaige's arm she smiled and shook her head listening to Obli she cocked her head to the side and then looked at Aayla, "Aayla could you translate! Did he just say a lone horse would dance under the storm clouds for hours to come? Is that the entertainment for the hand parting ceremony because it sounds interesting."She smiled and took another drink. She thought must drink more to understand.

Tasite wrote:Tasite was drinking slowly as she listened to everyone talking when the young man walk over holding Aasha in his arms spoke to Aayla. She couldn't make much out do to her head aching but she thought she heard "Ken ye take Storm? Ifn ye follow, we ken get t'at 'ead o' yers looked at too." Which made her bust out in laughter and her sister didn't help much with her translation. "Did he just say a lone horse would dance under the storm clouds for hours to come? Is that the entertainment for the hand parting ceremony because it sounds interesting." still laughing she started holding her head, you'll are going to kill me with laughter if you don't stop.

Aasha wrote:Aasha was gritting her teeth, the pain radiating down her finger and hand, into her wrist and up her arm. Dammit, it was supposed to be a hand parting, hadn't she already said a finger was enough? Fate had it in for her no doubt, or maybe this was Jah's revenge for her turning her back on him. Not like he'd not done the same to her a long time ago. She stayed silent while Obli walked, afraid if she spoke again, it would be a string of curses, or her yelling in his ear again. It lasted until he spoke to Aayla, then she had to speak up, if only to protest. Yah, it be brok'n, bu' nae in p'eces...is all t'geth'r, jus' hurtin' likes hell. She wrinkled her nose and bit his shoulder, trying to get his attention. Obli; she growled. I ken rides a horse jus' fine, put me down an' I ken shows ya. She was being stubborn now and she knew it, but couldn't seem to stop herself. Ain't no simp'rin' fool o' a lady wha' ken nae do fer hers'lf.

obli. wrote:He certainly wasn't ignoring Aasha, but the bite brought her acutely to his attention. He was a little confused by her reaction. "Aash, meh ne'er said ye ken nay ride, meh be knowin' ye ken. Meh be wantin' ye on Kael wit meh, sos ye ken nay 'urt yer 'and mor'." Obli was being oddly decisive at the moment, but with the two women her cares most about hurt, why wouldn't he? He looked to his sister for her agreement.

His head snapped back towards the sassy lass who thought to poke fun at him. His eyes flared with anger. "Listen lady, you can poke fun at my accent, or help. I don't care which. Either way, be quiet and keep the dog of yours on a leash. Maybe if you took care of him better, he wouldn't be hounding after other women. His warnings are through, next time he'll know he made me mad, because he'll be pulling my knife out of him." He had dropped his accent completely. Speaking with perfect diction, as Eoghan had taught him. Eoghan had educated Obli is a manner that was usually exclusive to Nobles. It wasn't until years later they had discovered Obli had been born into nobility along with his twin sister Aayla. Nobody there had ever heard him speak like that, except maybe Aayla, when he was practicing in the House of Rahl. Even then, it was a long time ago. He didn't like speaking proper, much to Eoghan chagrin, Obli simply felt it was flaunting fortune that had been bestowed upon him. He thought about Aasha's reaction to him. He didn't dare look at her right now. He would explain later. He glared at the woman he had addressed, eyes slowly moving to the guard, only to return to her.

Aasha wrote:Aasha bit her lip, then sighed. She wasn't at her best when she was on the receiving end of pain, and from her recollection, couldn't remember a time that she'd actually broken anything. Skin didn't count. Her cousin had always been careful not to break bones, just spirit and skin...

The argument wasn't worth it, which said just how badly she was hurting, as arguing was one of the things she did best. Aasha laid her head back on Obli's shoulder, mumbling; won't hurts 'tall if'n I jus' cuts it off...

She hadn't been paying much attention to Brianna or Tasite, as long as their voices weren't raised, it wasn't worth the effort. That is, until Obli's measured words caught her attention. She'd never heard him speak like that before, why he sounded almost...noble... There was a dog here? Who was this man and where was her Obli? Aasha was ready to run again, if she'd had the energy to wiggle from Obli's embrace, she would have been on Storm and gone. Why in the hell hadn't she thought to jump on her mare earlier instead of running on foot? She really needed to think things through a little better next time. She contented herself with stiffening up. She was no longer resting against him, she was too busy looking at Obli like he'd sprouted two heads.

Lady_brianna wrote:She looked at the bottle as the mans words came out clear and perfect "Holy Crow liquor was the key all along I understood everything you just said. " she giggled and took another swig. "And you better be nice to me im Aasha's aunt and I would love sick Ingrid after you and you wouldn't be so close to Aasha." she chuckled evily again. "And he isn't mine to control he is Arthur's so if you have issue take it up with my nephew. And you better mind how bossy you get with this princess." she grinned and took another sip.

obli. wrote:Obli looked at Aasha in his arms and muttered under his breath to her, "Meh be 'splainin' lat'r love, 'onest." He walked them over to Kael. He gently put Aasha down on the ground and helped her get onto Kael in order to minimize her pain. As he prepared to mount Kael the woman's words fell on him. Her words forced a laugh from him. "Lass, you seem to think that I give a damn about your Ingrid or...princess. You would be mistaken." Obli put a lot of sarcasm into the word princess. With a chuckle, he hopped up behind Aasha and grabbed Kael's reigns.

Aasha wrote:Bloody hell. Aasha put a hand to her head, wondering if perhaps she was hallucinating. She couldn't remember hitting her head that hard, her hand had been between Tasite's head and her own. How was it that she was so addled? A'rights; she muttered, utterly confused. She could wait...maybe it had to do with the pain?

Aasha laid her head down on Kael's mane, whispering softly about pain, broken hands, fool men and guards when Obli turned to talk to Brianna. He was talking in those measured tones again, even Kael seemed to look at him differently when he did that. She managed to choke out; Ingrid is ev'l... right as Obli mounted. The girl couldn't decide if it was worth the effort to move her head and lay back against him, or stay where she was, her hand hanging uselessly at her side. She was afraid to move it, if it stayed still, the pain was almost bearable. Somehow she doubted it would stay that way, not when Kael began to move. Obli...ken I jus' cuts it off?

Aayla wrote:Ughh... so many people talking, less talking more drinking would be good. Aayla had closed her eyes for only a moment, trying to force the pain away with the sheer force of her will. Judging by the pounding in her head that was not going well. She opened her eyes again and the world was sort of spinny. "Oh bother..." she grumbled finding that right here seemed a really really good place to sit down and rest her head... on the ground. "Iffin she wanna cut something off... ye'kin start with me head." she murmured into the ground.

Krezlar wrote:Krez walked over towards Aayla. Seeing that she is still possibly groggy from the bump on the head or from the bottle of whiskey that she had just gulped down, it could have been both he was not sure. He carefully bent down and offered his hand, Whispering so as not to be to loud Would ye care fer a hand up? and over to ye horse? He warily watches to make sure he can move quick enough in case she decides to attempt taking his hand off.

Lady_brianna wrote:She looked at Obli raising a brow and pulling her dagger "Ohhh but you will care my dear. And I maybe a princess little boy but I know how to use this and dont under estimate me for a second or disrespect me either or you will find out just how sharp this is." she smiled.

obli. wrote:Obli chuckled at the threat. "Oooooh, t'e princess be gettin' meh wit 'er dag'er!" He exclaimed mockingly. He rolled his eyes. "Goo' day." Without waiting for a reply, he flicked his wrists allowing Kael to leap forward. They were off in search of a healer.

Aasha wrote:She was vaguely aware that Aayla hadn't mounted Storm yet. Hopeful that the woman would take her, but not overly concerned, she clung to Kael's mane. The jarring was worse this way, causing her hand to throb. Aasha forced herself to sit up, then leaned back against Obli. Aasha had nothing to say about the princess thing, or anything else for that matter. Not until she could ungrit her teeth, which may be a while. She did manage to get out between clenched jaws; Obli? Does...ya...knows...a...healer.

obli. wrote:Obli changed his position, making it more comfortable for Aasha to lean against him. He question struck him, "Eh, Eoghan...but meh be 'opin' t'at ye be knowin' som'one clos'r." He kissed her cheek reassuringly. "Eit'er way, we be gettin' ye fix'd up righ'."

Aasha wrote:Only healer I'm knowin' is backs in Inis...an' I ain't sure how ta finds 'er. She jus' seems ta shows up. She was who fix'd me up aft'r... Aasha's eyes widened as it hit her again. She was not married to Donnor anymore, she was single. Well, as single as someone living with a man she was deeply committed to could be. She could be that person now, she could allow herself to show Obli how she felt without guilt. Yes, she had run when she thought of it earlier, afraid of being hurt again, of going through the pain of losing at love again...but now, in his arms, the fear just wasn't there. This was Obli, not Donnor. Very little of their interactions were reminiscent of Donnor when they were together, he was unique.

Aasha turned slightly on Kael's back so she could look into Obli's eyes. Her hand didn't matter, the pain ignored. She brushed her lips across his, whispering; I'm sorry I ran Obli...if'n I didna acts likes an idgit, nob'dy w'ulda gots hurts. Dun cares who ya takes me ta see...I ken sets it mys'lf if'n I gots ta. Jus' stays wit' me. I'm bad 'bout pushin' ya 'way...I dun re'lly wants ta, I jus' gets scared som'times...I'm re'lly glad yer here wit' me.

obli. wrote:Obli nodded. "Eoghan 'tis then." He was about to press Kael to go faster when Aasha turned to face him. He brought Kael to a slow stop so he could listen intently to what she was saying, fighting off the distraction of their lips touching. "Aash..." his voice was tender. His hand reached out, brushing some of her hair behind her ear. "Meh be wantin' ye, jes' ye, 'ntil t'e day meh dies. Ye ken push meh 'way ten times, meh jes' be comin' back t'ye a 'undred. Ye be t'e only one fer meh, Aash."

He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Meh 'eart is yers Aash. Ifn meh could be livin' wit'ou' it, meh jes' take it ou' and gives it t'ye. Would nay be t'inkin' twice 'bout it. When meh said t'at meh loves ye, t'e firs' time, meh put e'eryt'ing t'at meh be in yer 'ands, meh 'eart, meh soul...e'eryt'ing. Ye 'ave taken such goo' care o' meh Aash, ye 'ave." He kissed her, as if it was their first kiss all over again. "Meh found love, when meh found ye...and meh ne'er wants t'look fer love 'gain. Meh nay be wantin' t'love an'body else, but ye." He looked at her, unable to stop himself as the words continued to pour out of him. "Ifn ye love som'one Aash, ye dun leave t'em, nay matter 'ow 'ard t'ey push." He said reassuringly, wrapping his arms tightly around her.

Aasha wrote:It was too much, her emotions too close to the surface. Aasha listened to Obli, the tenderness in his voice her undoing. I dunno wha' I did ta d'serv's ya Obli...bu' I'm glad fer it. Tears were thick in her voice, the events of the day crashing over her. She thought she had to do this on her own, but why? He loved her, he wasn't leaving. She had pushed and pushed to get him to leave her alone. He'd never backed down, never even wavered. Put up with more abuse than was natural for anyone, just trying to get her to lower her guard.

Aasha watched the play of emotions, her own closely reflecting his. I...I sh'ulda asked ya ta be wit' me t'day. I thought...thought I had to feel pain a' wha' I was doin'. Tha' ya bein' 'ere w'uld stops i' an' I had to hurts. I was scar'd tha' I'd be leanin' on ya too much...bu' tha' ain't fair o' me is't? She was crying again, and for once honestly didn't care. This was Obli, she could be herself, better than that...she could be the person she wanted to be, not someone she was forced to because of circumstances. Ya puts ev'rythin' in my hands, an' I ain't givin' ya much backs. Why is ya still here puttin' up wit' me? I ain't takin' care o' ya...a'mos' drown'd ya an' yer sist'r. I hurts all o' ya... Her words were cut off with his kiss, the contact taking her breath away. Aasha leaned into his embrace, her good hand wrapping around his back, fingers clutching his shirt. Almost like she was afraid he would move away, though she knew he wouldn't.

I dun wants ya lookin' 'gain...dun wants ya leavin'. Dun wants ta be pushin' ya 'way. Wants ta finds a way ta nae be 'fraid o' ya, o' of yer lovin' me. To be showin' ya wha' ya means ta me. I didna ask, bu' I did wants ya here, ev'n if'n I c'uldna fig're how ta tells ya. Bein' marr'ed didna matt'r till I met ya...till ya mades me feel. T'day was fer me...an' fer you.

obli. wrote:Obli caresses the her cheek with the palm of his hand. "Aash...ye ken nay be tellin' meh t'at ye re'ly t'ough' t'at meh be stayin' a' 'ome." His hand wiped the tears from her eyes and he smiled warmly at her. He pulled her head against his chest, placing a kiss on her forehead, rubbing her shoulder. "Ye be givin' meh mor' t'en ye be t'inkin'. Meh ne'er felt complete 'til meh found ye. I found meh place in life wit ye. 'Tis mor' t'en meh e'er could ask ye fer." He went back to silently consoling her until she spoke up again.

Obli looked at her as her words settled upon him.
"Meh ne'er leavin' an' meh ne'er lookin' 'gain - fer an'one but ye." He spoke softly, wanting only to comfort her. Long ago, he'd recognized her history with relationships was fraught with trials and tribulations. He knew it might take a long time for her to put it all behind her. The night he first said he loved her, he'd decided right then he was willing to wait a lifetime for her - if it took that long. "When ye be re'dy, ye nay be 'fraid, Aash. Nay sense in rushin' it. Meh be 'avin' all t'e time in t'e werld now t'at meh found ye." He was a little surprised to hear her say the hand parting was for him too. "Well, ye ken know t'is, it be meanin' lots t'meh." He spoke with with deep seated emotions. Then he attempted to lighten it a bit. "If bein' marri'd means t'at much t'ye, meh be makin' a 'ception fer ye an' buy ye t'e pretties' ring, kneel b'fer ye an' ask t' 'ave yer hand fere'er. Meh jes' be t'inkin' t'at ye be wantin' some time 'way frem marr'age." He grinned playfully, but underneath he meant every word he said. As a rule, he wasn't interested in marriage in general, but with Aasha, well...somehow she sneaked past all the rules. With Aasha, loving her was the only thing that mattered, the rest made little difference to Obli. If she wanted a wedding, he'd see to it that she had the most beautiful one. If not, he was was still fiercely committed to her.

Aasha wrote:Aasha shook her head, her voice thick with tears. I didna know...I ain't good a' tellin' whys I does wha' I do. I jus' do, an' thinks lat'r som'times. She found herself nuzzling against his chest, her tears soaking his shirt when he pulled her closer. The word complete struck a chord, Aasha had felt more complete since letting him into her life. Even more than when she was with Donnor...Obli brought out the best and the worst of her all at once, sometimes to his detriment.

I feels the same Obli. An' ya ain't gonna hafta look fer me 'gain...I ain't goin' nowh're wit'out ya. Her head was still on his chest, soaking up the comfort he so easily gave, soothing her overwrought emotions. Aasha lifted her eyes to look up at him, the angle showing his neck and chin rather than his eyes. She really didn't want to move enough to meet his gaze, instead she tipped her chin up to kiss his neck softly. Ain't wantin' to rush. Wantin' ta enjoy ev'ry mom'nt wit' ya I ken. Jus' ain't sure if'n I ken turn off the fear much as I wanna.

His next words caught her unaware, she'd noticed a slight inflection in his tone, changing the seriousness of their conversation...but even that didn't stop her eyes from widening. If he'd not been holding her to him, she would have slid right off Kael's back. Ain't...ring...makin'...wha'? Aasha was stuttering, totally floored with even the mention of them getting married. Hadn't she just ended a marriage? Hell, truth be told, the idea of marriage had never appealed to her, she'd done it for Donnor's sake way more than hers. Aasha struggled for coherency, then spoke. Ya ken has my 'and wit'out marryin' me Obli. Bloody hell, ya ken has the one wha' hurts now if'n ya wants, I'll ev'n cuts it off fer ya. W'uld stop hurtin' tha' way. An' why w'uld ya be gettin' on yer knees fer ta be askin'? Tha' jus' dun makes no sense a'tall...

obli. wrote:Obli chuckled. He'd forgotten that formal, or traditional, treatment might be foreign to her, though it made her all the more special to him. Rather than further pushing the subject, Obli decided to switch it up a bit on her. "Gets meh clos'r t' t'e groun' t'be kissin'." He teased playfully.

He repositioned himself on Kael so that they could continue. Flicking the reigns, he moves the horse forward slowly, careful not to throw Aasha off balance.
"We be gettin' ye t'Eoghan, 'e be fixin' ye up right. Gots all kinds o' tricks when it be comin' t' 'ealin' som'one." He kissed the side of her head as they continued on.

Aasha wrote:I ken thinks o' bett'r things fer ya to be kissin' 'sides dirt ya knows. Aasha giggled, lifting her head to brush a kiss across his lips before Kael began moving again. Bu' if'n yer ins'stin'...wha' didya do wit' tha' jar o' dirt I gave ya? Kissing dirt, only her Obli would want to kneel to give her a ring just to kiss the ground. Aasha snuggled carefully against him when he repositioned, confident that he wouldn't let her slip off. Ain't sure if'n Ego'n usin' tricks to heal is good o' bad, she teased. Jus' dun lets 'im use leech's...'em things is jus' plum' nasty.

She found herself concentrating on him rather than the pain, losing track of where they were until the smell of woodsmoke reached her, the sun reappearing when they reached the clearing where Eoghan's home stood. The weather struck the girl as odd, raining during the hand parting ceremony, dull and gray while she stood alone. The sun now breaking from behind the clouds, the grass and leaves on the trees sparkling anew once she was securely in Obli's arms. It was as if nature itself was approving her and Obli together, especially to someone as superstitious as Aasha.

--Eoghan. wrote:Eoghan crouched down to tended the fire he had built to chase of the dampness of the rain. He loathed dampness, especially the type that nipped at the bones. He stared into the fire deep in thought. The knowledge of the twins, not only alive but reunited had given him cause for a lot of reflection on almost 2 decades of his life. Then, there had been the times Aayla had come to him on her own, seeking her own answers to her past. His thoughts were interrupted by the pounding of hooves. He looked up and with delight recognized Obli riding upon Kael, he grinned. It had been a while since he had seen Obli, but he had someone with him. Eoghan thought his eyes were deceiving him. It appeared Obli was riding with the last person Eoghan had expected him to be in the same place as, Aasha. He called out to them, Hello Obli...and Aasha. He added with a pleasant curiosity.

Breaking Hands Empty Re: Breaking Hands

Post  Aasha Sun Apr 18, 2010 9:24 pm

obli. wrote:Obli has sped Kael along towards the end, the sight of Eoghan's cottage cued a sigh of relief for him. Bringing, Kael to a stop, he slid off in a smooth movement, offering a hand to Aasha, he spoke in a rushed voice to Eoghan, "Eoghan, s'rry fer droppin' by like 'tis, but we be needin' yer help. 'Er 'and...'tis brok'n." He looked at Aasha and back to Eoghan.

He smiled timidly at his friend, clearly remembering the last time he and Aasha were in his presence together.
"'As been t'long meh frien'. T'ere be lots t'be tellin' ye, but ifn ye ken 'elp us wit t'ish..." He smiled, putting his arm around Aasha, walking towards the warmth of the fire. How did one tell a good friend about all that had happened in the last months. There was a lot to catch up on, especially how he'd fallen for the women he had so despised the last time he was in the presence of his mentor.

Aasha wrote:The closer they got to their destination, the quieter Obli became. Aasha wondered if he'd gone to speak to the man as Aayla had, and what he had said. Eoghan had managed to fill Aayla's head with some daft ideas, if he'd done the same with Obli...well...this visit would be just as awkward as the first, for different reasons.

Aasha glanced at Obli before he dismounted, trying to hide her trepidation. She hadn't cared where they went...until now... Eoghan had practically raised Obli. Much more than those horrible people that called themselves his parents had. The proper way he'd spoken to Brianna replayed. He'd not explained, not yet...would Eoghan disapprove of them together? She wasn't proper, and had no desire to try to speak like that. It took to long to get words out then, she felt silly talking that slow. But maybe...

Normally Aasha would dismiss Obli's offer of help and slide off on her own, but she was nervous. That, and her hand was suddenly hurting much worse than before, perhaps her anxiety level was affecting her pain? She took his hand and dismounted, nodding respectfully towards Eoghan. Hello 'gain Ego'n. If'n ya ken tells me wha' to do, I ken sets i'...dun wanna be puttin' ya ou' none. She didn't meet Obli's eyes, afraid that she might see shame. Her back straightened as she inwardly chastised herself. - You know better Ash, stop torturing yourself. This is Obli. He's already written to the Rahl's and told them how he feels about you. He wouldn't be ashamed of you with Eoghan if he wasn't with them. -

Somehow, between the words to herself, and the weight of Obli's arm around her, Aasha pushed back the feelings of inadequacy that tended to haunt her. My hand, an' my fing'r is brok'n too...'tween the ring an' the wat'r an' the 'ead, I dun mess'd 'em bot' up. They made it to the fire without her falling, no small feat as close as she was walking to Obli. It was a wonder she'd not gotten their feet tangled together and caused another incident, this sure seemed to be her day for it.

--Eoghan. wrote:Nonsense child, come, let me take a look at your hand and finger. Its no trouble at all. He held out his hand to receive hers. He smiled warmly at what he was assuming was a couple, now. He knew Obli didn't ride around with other people on Kael often, well...ever as far as Eoghan could tell.

Well, its nice to see the two of you not trying to kill each other. My goodness, last time you were here the tension was incredibly thick, now it seems gone. He chuckled teasingly. Where are my manners? Come, sit. Both of you. Obli, can you get my ointments? And a few drinks? Aasha, sit, sit. We need to get your hand set before it starts to heal wrong. He poked at the fire a few more times and grabs a few more items to prepare to fix her hand.

Aasha wrote:Eoghan's response answered one question quickly, obviously Obli had not been to see him since they'd gotten together. Which meant Obli had at least rudimentary skills in healing, considering how many injuries he'd sustained since trying to woo her. Aasha sighed at the word child while moving towards Eoghan. Hoping she hid the worry in her voice, she mumbled; ya ain't gots nae leech's does ya?

They had reached the fire by then, close to where Eoghan was crouched. Aasha's lips twitched when the elder began to direct them both on what to do, her to sit and show her hand, Obli to fetch items for him. Nae, we came to an unn'rstandin' 'bout tha'. Ain't throwin' 'im inna gael's 'gain neith'r. Gots bett'r places ta be lockin' 'im... The words were out before she could stop them, her cheeks filling with color. Trying to distract herself, she began to sit, avoiding looking towards him, until he mentioned it healing wrong. Eyes widened as Aasha met Eoghan's gaze. It ken heals tha' fas'? Dun feels likes i' be healin' none...jus' hurts likes hell. Aasha sat, then gingerly held her hand out towards the elder, wincing when she saw how swollen it looked.

obli. wrote:Obli nodded obediently. He went to the stand that held all types of herbs, ointments and medicines. He stood there for a moment, looking them over. He had a rough inclination of what Eoghan would be using, so he grabbed what he though was most useful. Grabbing three mugs, he filled them with Eoghan's sweet brew. Returning, he place the ointments to the side of Eoghan along with a mug. He handed one to Aasha, paying special attention to prevent and disturbance to her broken hand. He sat beside her and kissed her cheek. "Nay be worryin' m'love. Eoghan be gettin' yer 'and bet'er in nay time." He drank from the mug and watched.

--Eoghan. wrote:Leaches!? He exclaimed, a soft chuckle rolled from deep within him. No, no, no. No leaches. Ugly things they are. Now, we have to see exactly where its broken, let me know if any of this hurts. He began methodically probing different parts of her hand and fingers with very light pressure, stopping occasionally to check with her for any pain and gently reassuring her the pain would be gone before long. After finishing, he spoke to her, Well, your finger is badly broken, but your hand seems to be in better condition. A couple breaks, but they should heal pretty quickly. Your finger...if you are gentle with it while it heals should be fine in a while. He smiled, reaching out to touch her shoulder and nodded reassuringly

He glanced down at the items Obli had brought him. He grinned. Apparently Obli had been practicing. It had never been his strong suit, but Obli seemed to have a general understanding of the concepts, but he lacked a lot of finesse and took shortcuts. Looking again at the items Obli brought, his eyes widened - all the finesse, none of the short cuts. He shot a glare at Obli, shaking his head as a smile formed. Had he misjudged him all these years? Or was he taking extra care because it was her? As if reading his mind, Obli answered his question. He grinned. So, how long have you two been together? Or, better yet, how did you two ever end up together? He joked, recalling the last time he saw them.

Aasha wrote:she didn't want to take her eyes off Obli. Aasha had noted the respect he held Eoghan in the first time she'd run into him. This time was no different, he immediately did as Eoghan bid, leaving her side to rummage at a stand with all sorts of weeds on it. Watching him move, it hit her that she was lucky. Not everyone could say they were with a man who cared so deeply. Who stayed even when pushed away so hard. Her features reflected the love she'd not spoken before she turned her attention back to the healer.

Lets ya...ohhh...yer gonna...
But he'd already started probing. Even the light pressure was excruciating when he touched her broken ring finger. And she was to tell him, to actually admit when it hurt? She would have balked if she didn't trust Obli implicitly, and he trusted Eoghan. The girl nodded, choking out the word there when he got to the side of her hand. She'd not needed to say anything when he had touched her finger, her face going pale said more than any words could regardless. He was gentle but thorough, his tone conveying reassurance more than his words could. She let out a sigh of relief when he said the breaks would heal quickly. It wasn't her best hand for weapons, not that it mattered. Aasha tended to use both when defending herself, or fighting. And knowing how her life went, she would need both sooner rather than later.

If'n ya ken sets it fas' I'd be 'prec'atin' i'...
She looked curiously at the items Obli sat beside his mentor, none of which jumped out at her as being gross. Taking the mug, she tossed the contents back quickly, hoping the brew would help dull the pain setting her finger was sure to bring. It was a mistake, she'd forgotten how sweet Eoghan's choice of drink was. Sputtering at the taste, Aasha's eyes watered. A blush stained her cheeks when she looked at Obli. Tha' is too sweet... Laying her head against his shoulder when he sat, she whispered; Ain't worr'ed. I knows ya w'uldna bro'gh' me here if'n ya dun trus' 'im. Aasha had missed Eoghan's perusal of the items Obli brought over, only catching the smile at the end. Hoping that was a good sign, she waited for him to continue the torture. A huge grin lit her face at the healer's question. She would let Obli field the questions, his answers might be more fun...and give her a much needed distraction from her hand and finger.

--Eoghan. wrote:Eoghan reached for the ointments. It was clear how much Obli cared about this woman. One of his shortcuts had always been pain relief, Eoghan always assumed it had something to do with his captors. Yet, here before him was one of the more effective numbing balms. He would have to speak to Obli about this later. Taking the balm container, he scooped some up with a leaf Obli had placed beside the ointments. Looking at Aasha he spoke calmly. Applying this may hurt, but in a short time you will not feel any pain. You might feel a tingling sensation, it will all disappear in hours, but it will make setting your hand much better. Ready? When she agreed, Eoghan began rubbing the balm into her hand, being mindful of the ares where it was broken.

Aasha wrote:Knowing the pain was coming helped. Aasha had found a way to lock herself away from what was going on with her cousin, she employed that same tactic now. Finding a place within herself where there was no pain, where she was happy and healthy and nothing could hurt her. Her eyes were distant when she nodded her assent. Long as ya fix i', I'll be a'rights. I ken handle pain. Jus' dun wanna if'n I dun gots to. Aasha let her mind wander through different moments with Obli, trying to pinpoint at what point they went from enemies to a couple, but could find no defining incident that she could tell Eoghan. Obli was being quiet, perhaps waiting for her to speak, or maybe too concerned with her injury to tell. She smiled softly, still lost in her place of peace when she attempted to answer. Ain't sure I ken says wha' bro'ght us t'geth'r. Whisk'y maybe...too many times inna tav'rn...o' Aayla, 'is sist'r. She an' me is fr'ends, sos he had to be 'round me some. Breaking Hands Empty Re: Breaking Hands

Post  Aasha Mon Apr 19, 2010 6:28 pm

obli. wrote:"Aye Eoghan, 'twas jes' like t'at." Obli rolled his eyes and shook his head, a small chuckle escaped thinking of the parts Aasha had conveniently glossed over. "Oh," he began, in a tone sure to convey that anything he was about to say couldn't be good. "Aash m'love, did ye tell Eoghan, 'ere, 'bout t'e stabbin's and kicks ye be givin' meh too? All leadin' up t'us findin' each ot'er?" His eyes twinkled with playfulness. "All teasin' 'side, Sissy saw t'at we prolly be killin' each ot'er. 'Minded meh t'at meh use t'see pe'ple fer who t'ey be, nay whet t'ey is an'..." His voice trailed off. He looked at Aasha and smiled, his love unmasked on his face. He swallowed hard. "An' when meh did jes' t'at, meh saw t'e mos' special wom'n. Carin', sweet an' makes meh feel 'live." He paused. "Meh be knowin' t'en t'at meh be chasin' af'er 'er all meh life ifn meh 'ad t'. T'ough meh sur' be glad she nay be makin' meh chase fer long." Obli grinned. It was true, once he saw her for who she was, he recognized very quickly that she was the only woman for him. Then it had been a matter of getting her to give him a chance. Efforts for which were evidenced by scars, scars he was quite fond of now.

Aasha wrote:She smiled as he finally found his voice, apparently her trying to tell Eoghan had spurred him to speak. Aasha glanced over just in time to see him roll his eyes, the tone in his "Oh" pulling her out of herself enough to be aware of things around her. Stabbin' an'... The girl shook her head in denial. Wha' kicks? Jus' one...an' if'n yer gonna be tellin' Ego'n tha', ya bett'r be tellin' 'im why. o' is ya scar'd ta be tellin' 'im wha' ya did to be des'rvin' tha'? She slid her fingers down to the only dagger she had strapped on her person, the one at her thigh. It was a deliberate move, one designed to catch Obli's attention. She didn't draw, just letting her hand rest on the hilt hidden under her shift, only then remembering all she had on was a shift. Great, her first meeting with Eoghan was after she'd thrown Obli in jail, the second she broke her hand and was dressed like a doxy.

Aasha's concern for her state of dress lasted only a second, the second part of Obli's telling wasn't something she'd heard before. She had been right, he hadn't looked past her affiliations with NNGO at the beginning, not that she needed confirmation. Being called a hound had told her that when Donnor's army had begun its march to Cork. Hearing that Aayla had reminded him to look past that...Aasha had no idea how instrumental his sister had been in her new found happiness. Pulled out of her musings, she stuttered; Carin' an' sweet? Now why ya tellin' folk tha'? Her face was flushed, her hand and the pain that had already receded forgotten in her embarrassment. He ain't meanin' i'...I thinks the wat'r he swall'wed is addlin' 'is brains. Nex' ya knows he'll be callin' me a lady o' som'thin' daf' likes tha'. He touched her broken hand to see if it was numb yet. How does it feel? he asked. You might feel a little pain when I set it, but still a lot less if I hadn't used the balm. He motioned toward the other items Obli brought. This salve will speed the heeling and prevent infections - I'll give you some to take with you. Also, we'll use this, he held up a make shift splint, to keep your hand and finger set. He looked Aasha in the eyes, You'll be back to normal within a few weeks. He patted her knee.

She hadn't expected her trust for Obli to extend to his mentor the way it was, especially after he'd put such daft ideas into Aayla's head. She did need to discuss that with the elder, Aasha just wasn't sure if now was the time for it. After all, he was going to set her broken hand. Wha' way does he looks a' me? There was a look if impish delight in her eyes, the numbing agent on her hand letting her relax fully for the first time since she'd finished the hand parting. I'm sure I ken deal wit' any pain tha' happ'ns now. Her gaze followed his motion towards the other items Obli had laid out. Long as Obli ken r'memb'r to tell me how ta use i' an' when, I'll takes wha' ya gives me...wit' thanks to ya fer i'. She smiled at the old man, then glanced towards Obli, her features softening. Ya ken sets it now Ego'n...I'm re'dy.

obli. wrote:Great, his mentor and his lover were both selling him out to each other. Maybe bringing her here was a mistake? He glanced down at her hand. Nope, not a mistake. Getting her hand fixed, by arguably the best healer he knew, would be worth any amount of teasing. Eoghan had taught him plenty about healing, probably would have been able to set it well enough himself, but he never had all the ointments available. Mainly because he had only healed himself and he never bothered with the details, like pain relief. But this wasn't him, this was Aasha. He wouldn't cut corners with Aasha.

He chucked,
"Aash, d'serve be such a strong werd..." he grinned. He could sense she was a bit more relaxed, probably because the pain was receding. Obli knew the balm was powerful, he'd accidentally got some on the tip of his finger when he picked it up balm. Even wiping it off in a short period of time left half his finger feeling weird. "Well, meh nay ran 'way frem ye, so, meh mes' o' t'ought 'twas prop'r 'nough." He looked at Aasha, placing a kiss on her cheek. "Ye be knowin' meh ne'er change a bit o' 'ow we be gettin' t' t'is poin'. Well, maybe ye dun 'ave t'break yer 'and, but t'e res' meh ne'er change." He smiled lovingly.

Aasha wrote:She had a feeling she could learn a lot about Obli from Eoghan, their interaction spoke of how close they were. As tempting as it was, Aasha did not ask him to regale her with stories of his youth. It wasn't because she didn't want to know, but Aasha didn't want to make Obli uncomfortable. Well...that and she was enjoying him opening up to her on his own. Sharing bits and pieces of his past without her pushing made her feel special, closer to him in some way. Especially since not all he shared was pleasant, it had made it easier for her to recount some of the horrors of her own without fear that he would turn away. She did have a few questions for Obli, though she had already decided to wait until they were alone, his proper speech to Brianna begged an explanation.

Aasha smiled at Eoghan, then murmured; I dun re'lly thinks he'd be tellin' n'body else. Obli's dun le'rned mor'n mos' 'bout me, an' I ain't he'rd 'im sharin' nothin' yets. Winking conspiratorially at the elder, she whispered loudly; Dun lets 'im fool ya...he d'serv'd i' a' the time. Jus' w'uldna now fer the same thin'... The kiss brought a glow to Aasha's cheek, her hand moving from her dagger to rest over his. An' I'm doin' my bes' to nae run 'way from ya nom're eith'r. I migh' change a lil' o' wha' gots us here, long as it me'nt tha' we still gots 'ere. Mention of her hand brought her head up in surprise, she'd forgotten the pain entirely. Perhaps because the entire thing felt funny, like it wasn't quite there, though she knew it was. Dun hurts a'tall now. Ain't he'rd o' a balm wha' ken do tha' 'fore...

Breaking Hands Empty Re: Breaking Hands

--Eoghan. wrote:Eoghan nodded as she mentioned her hand was not feeling any pain. Taking her hand, he worked to set the bones in her hand, delaying working on her finger until the last moment. When it was set, he took a couple other ointments and spread them on her hand. This will help your hand heal faster, and reduce the swelling. He took a slender stick and wrapped her finger to it with a little cloth, to brace it while it healed. Keep this on it for at least a week, while it heals. It will help keep you from moving it. Take it easy on the finger once you remove it for a couple weeks - that include smacking him, even if he deserves it. He chuckled, shaking his head back and forth.

Aasha wrote:The balm was good, but not that good. Aasha started feeling her hand again as Eoghan manipulated it back into place. It didn't hurt nearly as bad as before, though it throbbed as he set the bones. At least until he got to her finger. Aasha felt a sharp pain as the bone snapped back into place, turning into a dull throb when he applied the ointments. She had no idea setting a broken bone was so complicated. Eoghan's movements were gentle and efficient, he had finished splinting her hand as he talked, before she even realized he was done. Obli will helps me r'memb'r wha' to puts on i' fer i' to heals fas'. I ain't so good wit' tha' 'erb stuffs. She glanced down at her hand, wrinkling her nose. There would be no throwing a dagger with it for a while, if ever again. Damn idgit Donnor, she muttered under her breath. I gots two hands, I ken smacks 'im wit' the oth'r if'n he des'rves it. Aasha grinned, the throbbing forgotten in her amusement. One of her brows shot up as she added; 'sides, I'm thinkin' all men needs smacked som'times...incl'din' the eld'rs.

obli. wrote:Sold out. Sold right up the river. There was no other way Obli could feel. "Aye ye be keepin' it up, meh jes' might be feelin' a case o' t'e fergetfuls wit t'e 'ealin' stuffs." Obli teased with a glowing smile. He shook his head at the two of them. At least they were getting along well. Obli stood up and grabbed a pitcher of Eoghan's brew, he went around to the mugs, filling them up. He sat down beside Aasha and looked at her hand. "'Ow it be feelin', hun?"

Aasha wrote:Aasha giggled and winked at the elder. See wha' I mean...all o' 'em needs smack'd from time ta time. This one mor'n mos'. He gets som'o' the daf'es' ideas in 'is head. So does 'is sist'r... She paused to think about that for a moment, then continued; ...seems to happ'n more when they is 'round ya fer long. She studied the contents of her mug after smiling at Obli. Wha' ya gots inna brew ya serve tha' makes 'em lose their minds? I'm thinkin' I dun needs no more o' it. I'm needin' to keep wha' sense I gots.

She wasn't sure what she needed more in that moment. To lean on him and bootst her spirits, or to reassure him that she was alright, just as tough as he expected her to be. Aasha placed the mug on the ground and grasped Obli's hand in her good one. Feels a bit odd, bu' nae near as bad as i' was when we gots 'ere. Yer Ego'n does a good job wit' healin'. She said it and knew what she really wanted to do was crawl into his lap and snuggle, to thank him for loving her, despite their beginnings. Instead she squeezed his hand and scooted close enough that their thighs touched.

--Eoghan. wrote:Eoghan laughed. You should have seen him BEFORE I met him. He was even worse then. A smile formed. They are twins, makes sense they would be similar. I can assure you, its not the brew. Many have drank it before them. He paused then added. When they come to me, they usually seek answers, I tell them what I can - but it is up to them to do what they will with the answers. He shrugged The old ways prohibit me from interfering too much. It is not my place to say what one should do with their knowledge. You have no idea how difficult it was with that one. He pointed at Obli.

obli. wrote:Obli smiled happily. "Not'in' bu' t'e bes' fer ye, mo chuisle." Obli hugged her. Glancing down at the healing materials, he made a mental note of what he would need to collect. She'd be out of commission for a while, but should be good as new in due time. "Nay be worryin' hun, we be gettin' ye back t'normal. Meh be takin' goo' care o' ye, ifn ye be lettin' meh." He teased.

quote="Aasha"]He was worse then? Is ya sure tha' be poss'ble? Aasha thought of all the daft things Obli had done since she met him, from calling her a hound all the way through to getting stabbed for stealing a kiss. How could he have possibly been any dafter?

Aasha smiled at Obli, squeezed his hand again, then commented; I ain't lik'ly ta be askin' ya fer answ'rs. A'ways been tole wha' to do an' how, now I'm likin' fig'rin' things ou' on my own. I'm thinkin'... she paused and glanced between the two, then finished her thought; ...thinkin' tha' ya'll be lucky. Ya cares fer each oth'r an' ain't placin' lots o' rules on the carin'. Tha' be wha' drew me to Obli, ev'n when I dun wanna be drawn to nob'dy. He ain't puttin' rules on me, jus' be lovin' me. He's a bit daf', bu' hes gotta be if'n hes gonna be 'round me much.

She giggled, then almost choked when Obli spoke. Did he just call her his squish love? What in the world was a squish love. Confusion showed on her face when she glanced over, she had no idea how to answer that. The hug helped, she concentrated on hugging him back without hurting her hand, something she seldom did. I ain't sure if'n I ken be norm'l...bu' yer welc'me to help me wit' wha'ev'r ya wants. Gonna have ta wit' the hand, I ain't gonna r'memb'r...ain't good wit' healin' stuffs.[/quote]
